The UK’s 1999 Egan Report, Rethinking Construction, was a ground-breaking report that sought to transform the UK’s construction industry. I was fresh out of Uni at the time, fresh into recruiting and fresh into construction. Egan was the talk of the industry. From a talent perspective, it changed the landscape, it rejuvenated and reinvigorated the desire for talent that could change, innovate, and promote genuine diversity of thought. The report was highly influential and changed the UK industry for the better. It focused on: - Committed leadership - A focus on the customer - Integrated processes and teams - A quality-driven agenda, and - A commitment to people We can see its legacy in many of the high-performing projects and practices we have in Australia today. Innovation and sustainability have been at the heart of our industry changes over the past twenty years, and we have made good progress. However, although there has been much recent dialogue around industry reform, we have yet to see significant, needle-moving change. This is why I’m so excited to attend the FF24 Foundations and Frontiers movement, which will be held on August 8th in Sydney. You don't have to attend to be part of the conversation. There are many ways you can lend your voice, thoughts and feedback. See the link in the first comment below. #imaginewhen #change #FF24 Jon Davies
