Dear final year law students, I'd like to share a significant change in my professional journey. After careful consideration and reflection, I've made the decision to embark on a new chapter in my legal career. I've officially transitioned from Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill to begin pupillage afresh at Manjit Singh Sachdev, Mohammad Radzi, and Partners. This decision wasn't made lightly. While my time at Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill was invaluable and filled with growth, I realized that I wasn't quite where I wanted to be in terms of career progression. After soul-searching and thoughtful deliberation, I recognized the need to broaden my horizons and deepen my understanding beyond corporate and conveyancing. To all final year law students and individuals seeking pupillage opportunities, I urge you to consider the following: 1. Explore Diverse Areas of Law: Don't limit yourself to just one area. Explore a variety of legal domains to discover your true passion and potential. 2. Seek Comprehensive Learning: Aim for a well-rounded legal education. Don't focus solely on one aspect of law; instead, strive to learn about different practice areas to broaden your knowledge base. 3. Balance Specialization with Versatility: Unless you're very sure that you only want to specialize in one area (unlike me), consider the benefits of being versatile in various legal fields. It can provide you with a competitive edge and open doors to new opportunities. 4. Avoid Rushing and Grabbing Whatever Comes Your Way: Take the time to evaluate your options carefully. Rushing into decisions may lead to missed opportunities for growth and fulfillment. 5. Network and Seek Guidance: Connect with legal professionals in different fields to gain insights into various practice areas. Seek mentorship and guidance to navigate your career path effectively. 6. Stay Committed to Growth: Commit to continuous learning and growth throughout your legal career. Embrace challenges as opportunities for development and refinement. Here's to embracing change, pursuing growth, and shaping our legal careers with purpose and intention!
