InsuranceAsia News talks to James Vickers, chairman of Gallagher Re International and Mike Van Slooten, head of business intelligence for Aon’s Reinsurance solutions, to discuss the recent renewals. https://lnkd.in/gn667pES Vickers told IAN, “Going into the 1.4, reinsurers were looking to grow. Some of them achieved some growth at January 1. Some of them were perhaps a little bit disappointed at what their final signings were at the 1.1. Against that backdrop, they were looking to be helpful and find a way to grow.” According to Slooten: “The new-found stability in the market was confirmed at the April 2024 renewals, with strong annual results and growing capital positions encouraging many reinsurers to show increasing appetites, particularly at the upper levels of programs.” For daily market updates, sign up for our free newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gGKxEQk4 #analysis #reinsurance #casualty #property #renewals #asiapacific
