One of the hardest features to build on Evntt was the Connect tab which is designed to help everyone connect and network before, during and after the event. Users can see a list of who is attending and search by name. With one-click they can request to connect with each other. Push notifications are also available to send updates such as when someone is requesting to connect. Every user profile has its own unique digital badge that can be scanned through the app to instantly connect. The first is an #Ovleng Headset that I purchased almost 10 years ago (a testimony to the quality of this Chinese product). Mine is much older than those displayed on the webpage. I used this for some earlier recordings (at the start of the year). Previously, I recommended the use of an IPad or Smart Phone (both with software). The quality of the phone will determine whether you need a podcast mic. For those in need of a full set up, and with a small budget, I bought a set from @Dansoft Gamers located in the City of Kampala. Protecting your personal accounts is critically important in today's digital age. Two weeks ago a family member called me because they were locked out of their Google account. No MFA. We eventually got lucky and restored access, but MFA would have turned this temporary crisis into a nothing-burger. I re-recorded my video to demo how to set up MFA on your Google account, now including Passkeys. I tried to make this easy and accessible for everyone, no matter your technical knowhow. If you have family and friends who you know are not using MFA, send this video along! I've annotated the sections so you can jump right to the demos if you like. Enjoy!
