Today I used the KWL strategy with my EAP students to help them tackle a reading on vertical farms. What do you KNOW? What do you WANT to know? What did you LEARN? This student-centered approach empowers learners to reflect on their existing knowledge, be curious about a topic, and articulate what they’ve learned. Word of the day: carbon footprint! Funny word of the day: ginormous! How do you help your students actively engage with course reading?
