Happy #Earthday2024 One of the key strategic priorities for Bowmer Bond is to “Enhance focus on sustainable manufacturing and products” for the long-term. Over the last 1-3 years, we have taken further steps to reduce our impact on the environment. Here are just a few of those steps: - Installation of solar panels across two major roofs at our HQ in Derbyshire - Reduction of plastic packaging and using recycled and recyclable materials in our packaging - Additional provisions on site for staff and visitors to recycle their rubbish - Product Development and innovation projects in progress to identify sustainable alternatives for our future product portfolio - Bike to work scheme - Adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles There is no perfect way but we can all do something to help protect the future of our planet. Here's how: ♻ For every placement we make, we plant a tree using Treeapp. With over 2000 trees already planted, our impact grows with each hire! The Treeapp also offers a daily free tree initiative, empowering our employees to contribute to reforestation. ♻ Onsite recycling is a cornerstone of our operations, complemented by our zero waste to landfill policy. ♻ Printing is done mindfully, with a focus on the necessity to reduce paper waste. 🌍 Finland is taking a bold step towards #sustainability with the Reusify Project, led by VTT and the University of Vaasa. The newest SPIRIT ecosystem project, Reusify, aims to develop reusable packaging systems, combat single-use waste, and reduce our environmental footprint in collaboration with 21 stakeholder organizations. The potential impact? An export market worth a staggering 1.45 billion euros by 2035! 📈 🔍 Reusify isn’t just about packaging materials - it’s a holistic approach. From circular economy principles (think “reuse” and “recycle”) to analyzing consumer experience and acceptance. 🤝 Part of the SPIRIT program, the Reusify consortium includes major players like SOK, Kesko, Borealis, Orthex, Lassila & Tikanoja, and Compass Group Finland.
