𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 has announced a significant partnership to install its advanced 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 (𝐂𝐂𝐒) system on four new 𝐥𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐎𝟐 (𝐋𝐂𝐎𝟐) carriers, slated to be the 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝'𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭. In collaboration with Capital Gas and British engineering firm Babcock, 𝐄𝐑𝐌𝐀 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 will equip these vessels with its 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐁𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐈𝐓 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦, which utilizes amine absorption technology to capture and liquefy CO2 for onboard storage. This breakthrough project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions from the vessels by over 70%, marking a major step toward carbon-neutral shipping operations. The carriers, each with a capacity of 22,000 cbm, are being built by 𝐇𝐲𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐢 𝐌𝐢𝐩𝐨 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐲𝐚𝐫𝐝 and are scheduled for delivery in 2026.
