Nice article focusing overcoming resistance to change based on previous experiences. Definetly worth reading.
Overcoming resistance to change is an important skill. Especially in agile transformations. The key to it all: 👉 Understand where resistance is coming from In my Agile Compass article 3 weeks ago I dove into what I learned in 20 years of dealing with resistance. The biggest surprise? 😮 The people resisting the most are often the most agile! Since I learned that, my attitude towards people resisting change has completely changed. And my strategies to deal with resistance have changed. If you're interested, the article is still available online for now: #agile #transformation #changemanagement

I came across this article about the connection beetween the Agile methodology and Emotional Intelligence. Very interesting! I thought I'd share with you all... let me know your thoughts! Author Mike Griffiths says "There’s also an inherent connection between emotional intelligence and agility. Indeed, the first value of the Agile Manifesto is 'Individuals and interactions over processes and tools.' This agile value emphasizes the importance of people and collaboration." #Agile #AgileMethodology #EmotionalIntelligence

🌟 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐠𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 🌟 Yesterday, a friend shared his frustration with me about the chaotic nature of his work life. He described his days as a constant battle against fires, the looming project deadline, no personal life, and a toxic work environment. Sound familiar? As an Agile enthusiast, I jokingly suggested he might need an Agile Coach, his response was a resounding "No." His reason? His company had tried Agile in the past, but it didn't work for them due to the complexity of their large-scale project and myriad dependencies. This is a common myth: Agile isn't suitable for large, complex projects with many dependencies. But here's the truth: Agile can be a game-changer in precisely those situations. 🚀 Here's why Agile can still be a game-changer: ⚡𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Agile's iterative approach allows for adapting to changes and addressing dependencies incrementally. ⚡𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Agile promotes visibility across teams, helping to identify and manage dependencies early on. ⚡𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Agile fosters teamwork and communication, breaking down silos and promoting cross-functional collaboration. However, I empathize with my friend's hesitation. Resistance to Agile is real, often fueled by past negative experiences. So, how do we overcome resistance to Agile practices? ✨𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠: Listen to concerns and address fears openly. ✨𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Dispel myths and highlight Agile successes, tailored to their specific challenges. ✨𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲: Show how Agile can benefit individuals and the organization. ✨𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: Share use cases of successful Agile adoption to inspire confidence. The journey towards Agile adoption in complex environments may be challenging, but with empathy, understanding, and a tailored approach, it's possible to overcome resistance and unlock the full potential of Agile methodologies. 💡🚀 Let's keep the conversation going. 🌟 How have you tackled resistance to Agile in your organization or with individuals? Share your insights and experiences below. 💬👇 #Agile #AgileAdoption #MythsDebunked #ChangeManagement #Leadership #Empathy #ContinuousImprovement #Collaboration #OvercomingResistance #AgileCoach #ScrumMasters

Can you manage own defensiveness?, - asked the audience Jim Tamm, TEDx Speaker. Why agile teams are independent but have leaders anyway as servant agents. Yes, traditional working style differs a lot from agile mindset. Business agility is vital in our fast-changing world and it still hasn’t been successfully embraced by all organisations. What makes successful agile organisations unique? And agility in general is more than manifesto, more than iterations. In this course the main characteristics of agile organisations were highlighted through a framework created by the Agile Business Consortium. Here I explored and worked on case studies how a focus on people can benefit agile organisations. I also learned to recognise the kind of high-functioning, collaborative and self-managing teams that are vital to business agility, identified ways to build business agility through teamwork that I will share in my Business Analysis Foundation Training Courses for my students and mentees. Wow, you will never forget this! Also discussed elements of successful team working and how empowered, collaborative teams can increase business agility and deliver more value. I never put much focus in the meanings of "collaboration" and "cooperation", but in agile they are so different and have totally different meanings used in traditional and agile teams and having autonomy, ability to make decisions is just one element of many. Especially grateful for having speakers like Simon Sinek about Leadership: "we follow doctors who are educated, so why do we need to follow leaders who are not educated?...". Never stop learning! Have fun with business analysis
