Very interesting take on (ab)using AI in customer services. AI can only take an *already good* company to great. Integrating AI in your core business imposes strict requirements on data management, IT readiness, and compliance, which is already more than enough work if your organisation isn't there yet. Top highlight for me: Customer support as a stopgap Rather than seeing support as a way to build the kind of relationship that ensures product and service renewals and increases the business footprint, many organizations see support as - A cost center - A way to make up for deficient — or inexistent — product documentation - A remedy for poorly designed user experience - A shield to protect product managers’ valuable time from “irrelevant” customer feedback - A catch-all for lousy and inaccessible institutional websites - An outlet for customers to vent

Generative AI and the hype. This is the best video debunking the AI hype and pretty solid. He understands stuff. Investors be careful of snake-oil salesman (aka entrepreneurs) who are flavoring their products with AI. Its the new spice. Stop funding this generative AI stuff and save money for the bad times coming - ha ha (no I am serious). BTW, as far as programming is concerned you don't want a dumbo, producing code from GPT kind of stuff, that he does not understand and you can infer what he does not understand he cannot maintain (fix bugs,improve performance, change features, etc.). In fact these days with classy linters like clippy in Rust, who needs a code review. The only code review I do is, can you explain your code :-). Bang, the guy is running for cover. One more thing, boilerplate code should be generated using macros, etc. As far as learning goes, Google search, stackoverflow, docs and manuals are more than enough. Generative AI has one big problem too. If too many people say nonfactual or downright wrong things then it will "train" on that and feed you bs. The hardware guys like Nvidia etc. they have sensed that these models require big horsepower and more CPU sold the better it is. So they will promote it. And as Adam says in the video, CEOs are putting AI and I quote "on barely functional products" to sell to gullible people. It is all about stock price and making quick money. BTW, it is a fun pastime though. "Hey GPT, can you generate a motivational speech, for interns, inspired by Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, Soichiro Honda and Nelson Mandela". Next day me in office in front of the interns :-).
