The +92Disrupt Conference held this past weekend by Katalyst Labs was truly a game-changer for Pakistan’s startup ecosystem. My three takeaways from the fireside chats and speaker sessions are as follows: 1) Pakistan possesses some of the finest tech professionals in the world, which was evident by the many attendees who have worked at top Silicon Valley companies. 2) Even in times like these, when startup funding is running dry, if you’re genuinely building something of real value, investors will still be there to support you—Laam’s recent $5.5 million funding round led by Faisal Aftab is a prime example of this. 3) AI is something that every business must now take very seriously, given its immense value. RozeeGPT’s AI feature, for instance, can handle most of the recruitment process with AI. As I am in the business of AI and tech infrastructure development through my team in Pakistan for startups based in the USA and Middle East, this event made me even more confident about the value I offer to my clients through the amazing tech talent here. I’d like to offer my special thanks to Aatif Awan of Indus Valley Capital, Shehryar Hydri of Endeavor Pakistan and Ayesha Saleem of Lakson Venture Capital (LVC) for their valuable advice during our insightful discussions about my company, Hubaix.
