I'm hoping I can get some feedback from those of you who work client side in eCommerce. My view is that we are emerging from the bottom of a cycle in eCommerce in the UK, largely driven by the economy. We are likely to have a new government in place early July. What is going to be important to you as an eCommerce leader? Deploying new tech you might have been wanting to use? Keeping spend tight? Putting more into marketing? Understanding attribution? New marketing channels? Something else? If I can get some ideas I'll turn it into a poll Tagging the mighty: Lesley Gregory David Thompson-Jones Laura Keir Dan Beckles
As an eCommerce leader, it's crucial to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to the changing landscape. With the emergence from a cycle in eCommerce in the UK, factors such as deploying new technology, managing spending effectively, investing in marketing strategies, understanding attribution, exploring new marketing channels, and potentially other considerations will be key in driving success for your business. It's essential to prioritize initiatives that align with your company's goals and will enhance the overall customer experience. Look forward to seeing the insights gathered through your poll!
A lot of my clients are leaning more heavily into developing privacy-focused customer journeys. I can see that becoming more widespread in both the UK and the rest of the world 🌎, with new tech emerging to meet that need and give consumers a bit more control over the data they share and how it's used

6moFrom our side we have a key focus on new sales channels both within the UK and outside of the UK, with new markets/channels being key for sustained growth given the slightly sluggish economy. We are also looking to invest in technology aiding our operational efficiency, so as we scale and grow we can do this whilst being as lean as possible given long term uncertainty within the UK. Unfortunately the impact of hugely increased freight rates is likely to hit (certainly within our industry) over the coming months, likely leading to further product inflation just as peak approaches. I foresee a difficult last 6 months of 2024 for ecommerce but we're up for the challenge! 💪
