In Vietnam, amidst its rich cultures and landscapes, lies a story of resilience, hope, and transformative change. Meet Phoebe Nerone, cofounder of the Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund, an initiative that's painting a brighter future for young women and girls faced with the stark realities of poverty and societal expectations. Recognizing the expectations placed upon the shoulders of young girls, where traditional roles often confine them to their homes, caring for siblings, and sacrificing their own dreams and education, Phoebe saw not just their struggle but their untapped potential. Enter the Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund, a beacon of hope and change. Under Phoebe's stewardship, the nonprofit is breaking barriers by providing bicycles. These bicycles are more than just a means of transportation; they are vehicles of freedom, enabling regular attendance at school, providing safety for traveling over long distances, and offering a chance to make dreams a reality. It's a testament to the belief that with the right support, every girl can rise above her circumstances, write her own story, and contribute to a world where gender equality isn't just an idea but a reality. This Women's History Month, let's rally behind Phoebe Nerone and the Rock-Paper-Scissors Children's Fund. https://bit.ly/3PFqExZ #GenderEquality #ChangeMakers #Vietnam #NonProfit #Donate #HerStory #WomenInBusiness

Exciting Milestone for SAVING SOULS FOUNDATION I am excited to share that Saving Soul Foundation has successfully provided 5 sewing machines to deserving families who have the talent but lack the resources to kickstart their sewing ventures. Additionally, we support those in need through our food distribution program, providing essential items like sugar, flour, tea, and rice packages. Our mission is to empower women, promote gender equality, and support vulnerable communities through various initiatives. Our efforts align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 🔹 SDG 1: No Poverty - By equipping women with sewing machines, we help them create a sustainable source of income. 🔹 SDG 2: Zero Hunger - Through our food distribution program, we ensure that basic nutritional needs are met for many families. 🔹 SDG 5: Gender Equality - We are committed to empowering women and promoting gender equality by providing the tools and training they need to succeed. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our plans to offer comprehensive training programs. These programs will teach women how to effectively run their sewing businesses from home, further enabling them to achieve financial independence and contribute to their communities. However, we need your support to continue our mission. Many poor women are on our list waiting for sewing machines, but due to a shortage of funds, we have had to temporarily stop our distributions. Your generous donations can help us provide more machines and continue making a difference. A heartfelt thank you to all our donors and supporters who make our work possible. Together, we are creating a brighter future for these talented women and their families. #SavingSoulFoundation #WomenEmpowerment #GenderEquality #SDGs #NoPoverty #ZeroHunger #SewingMachines #CommunitySupport #FuturePlans #DonateNow 🙏❤️

International Women's Day is about investing in and including women. When we invest in women, we create a better world. A woman multiplies the impact of an investment made in her by extending benefits to the world around her, creating a better life for her family and building stronger communities. It is reassuring to see that more and more women are financially empowered, independent and included, but there is still work to be done to close the gaps that exist today. That's why I'm proud that with the help of the RBC Foundation, our branch supported a $2,500 donation to a local charity. Help forge an inclusive world by investing in women and accelerating the progress. After all, gender equality is one of the most effective ways to build healthier, more prosperous, and more inclusive communities. #IWD2024 #InternationalWomensDay

Today is National Give to Women and Girls Day-- a reminder that 52% of the world (women and girls) receive 2% of total philanthropy. If a woman or girl has shaped your life, support Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation today to help us shape future generations. Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy
Did you know that less than 2% of total charitable giving goes to organizations dedicated to women and girls? While gender equality gains prominence, philanthropic support remains low. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Women’s Philanthropy Institute at Indiana University for #GiveToWomenAndGirls Day, working to close the funding gap. Help us change it with your support: https://lnkd.in/e8XQQ7Th

We see you, Mitie and Heathrow! 👀✨ Big love to Mitie for stepping up and making periods a priority. £217k spent with Hey Girls means more free period products in the hands of those who need them most via our community partner network UK wide! Plus having our eco-friendly dispensers dotted around Heathrow means that anyone can grab what they need, when they need it. 🩸 Together, we’re not just talking about period dignity—we're DOING something about it. 🙌 Want to see how real change happens? Check out Mitie’s ESG report 👇 #PeriodDignity #EndPeriodPoverty #HeyGirls
Mitie works with Hey Girls, the only social enterprise that donates 100% of profit to eradicate period poverty and lobbies for period dignity across the UK. Every purchase results in a donation of free products. During FY24, we partnered with Hey Girls and London Heathrow Airport's gender equality network, giving its employees access to free, environmentally-friendly period products. After the successful pilot project, we installed Hey Girls dispensers throughout Heathrow free of charge and spent £217,000 with Hey Girls, supporting further free period product provision. Today is International Day of the Girl, a time to celebrate the potential and strength of girls worldwide. Plan International is committed to supporting girls in crisis by providing essential aid, combating child marriage, ensuring education during conflicts, and empowering young women entrepreneurs. Proud to collaborate with Plan to create a world where every girl can thrive. Despite progress, challenges persist with conflicts, climate issues, poverty, and child marriage threatening girls' well-being. It's estimated to take 134 years to achieve global gender equality, impacting five more generations of girls. It's time to say "enough is enough." Let's stand together to ensure no girl is limited by crisis. Girls, when empowered, can achieve remarkable feats. Join me in donating to Plan International Australia today and contribute to the movement for change. Gifts made today will be matched by Plan's partners, doubling the impact for girls in need. The newest trend in philanthropy is gendered giving. Will your organisation follow in the footsteps of Melinda French Gates? Melinda French Gates has committed $1 billion in new spending over the next two years for people and organizations working on behalf of women and families around the world. "Only about 2 percent of charitable giving in the United States goes to organizations focused on women and girls. When we allow this cause to go so chronically underfunded, we all pay the cost. As shocking as it is to contemplate, my 1-year-old granddaughter may grow up with fewer rights than I had" Here in Australia, gendered giving is also often an after thought. For 10 years, 100 Women has been dedicated in this space, advocating for and funding small grassroots organisations supporting and empowering women and girls facing disadvantage in Australia and around the world. We are committed to our vision of a more equitable world for women and girls. For women to feel safe, healthy, educated and free. If you are considering how your organisation can shift focus toward gender equality and support charities and projects in this space. Please get in touch.
