Interesting article for anyone who has ever wondered how we rig cameras in rain forests to get those iconic shots for the Planet Earth series.
Have a shot in mind and wondering how to get the camera where it needs to be? I’d be happy to discuss your vision. 🙏
This week Nicholas Bumgardner and Kris D'Amico had the chance to kick off the first #ASMP meeting in 3 years here in #Nashville. Wild to think that as a group community we have not met up for that long. There were many topics discussed both in the presentation and in the dozens of side conversations, but here were a few things that really stood out to me:
1. Usage in photo and video - by far the biggest hot topic for the group. Lots of varring thoughts, techniques, etc. Seems like this is a topic we need to dive deeper into. If you or someone you know is an photo agent/rep, an attorney who knows copyrights, or anyone who works in the legal side of art, please reach out. This is a huge conversation happening right now.
2. Between Nick and I, we had literally a dozen people ask us to teach them something. From contracts, to camera stuff, to sales, tons of questions. I think it's very cool that strangers were invited into a safe space and almost immediately dialog and learning started.
3. Nashville is growing and people are finding every opportunity to not only come together in #community, but to learn and teach each other from their experience. People are hungry for your knowledge, don't be afraid to share it!
We'll be doing some educational content for media pros over on our #Instagram over the next few weeks, so please join us. In the meantime, enjoy this (fake) baked bean ad from "Haynes Baked Beans." Another one that lives rent free in our head.

Thunderstorm Mode??!!
In the comments on our previous post, we had some discussion about the lighting colors and mentioned that our high-tech lighting system offers a range of colors and includes unique features like Thunderstorm mode. This mode creates lightning effects, mimicking storms over the ocean. We received multiple requests to see it in action, so here’s a short video of a brand new aquarium (just got first batch of fish) capturing the Thunderstorm mode!

Film Matters explores creative geography, a key technique in film world-building. By combining multiple locations through editing, filmmakers create the illusion of a single, seamless space. To help you better understand this concept, there's a practical chase scene assignment designed to give you hands-on experience with how creative geography shapes a film's narrative flow.

This was my big summer (and fall) project: a massive compilation recap of highlights, lowlights, quotes, and controversies from the Boston Celtics, season by season, from Banner 17 in 2008 to Banner 18 in 2024. This took many MANY hours of research, archiving, transcoding, editing, graphic designing, animating, and polishing, and now that the captions track is complete, the whole thing is DONE.
The video is doing very well so far on YouTube in the few weeks it's been up. Consider checking it out and using the chapters to select the season you want to see recapped.

Day 1 Challenge ~ Visualizing Nature's Details
Exercising Clairvoyance (clear seeing)
Let’s start off the challenge with some visualization!
Find a peaceful outdoor spot and sit comfortably. Close your eyes and connect with the earth. Visualize your energy connecting to the earth’s energy. See the energy in your mind’s eye. See the energies blend together. Keep the visualization going as it anchors and aligns you. Once connected, sit with it for a bit.
From here, start to visualize your surroundings, in detail, within your mind’s eye. Imagine and see the colors, shapes, movement, animals, plants, trees – everything that you need to connect to. Hold the visualization for as long as you can building it up as you go.
Take note of other images that come to you. Did someone or something sneak into your visualization that you did not expect? A loved one, a specific animal or plant? Did you see only one color more than the rest.
Take time to write down or voice record what you received and how it worked for you. You will want to reflect on your notes once the challenge is over. More about that at the end of the challenge!

We had been working on our ICVFX Depth of field solver and Virtual world focus transition system since 2021. Always trying to make this process easier and look more realistic. (NOT TO BE MISTAKE WITH THE NEW UNREAL DOF SOLVER (which I’m actually super excited to test against ours and learn more about)
I’m interested to know everyone’s experience with Virtual Production Depth of Field in the comments?
A little education on Led wall and ICVFX Depth of field, along with a how to setup the VIVE MARS FizTracker with Vp Toolkit and ICVFX Virtual Production.
I have to admit, the macro world is truly fascinating, because the beauty is in hidden barely noticeable details, almost invisible to the eye! If we open the eyes of our hearts to this, everything is so clear and visible!
