Yesterday, I had the privilege of presenting the impact of my presidency over the past two years to Engineers Australia members in NSW. Reflecting on my leadership journey, I’m proud of the meaningful strides we have made towards realising a collaborative and inclusive vision for engineering in our region. Some key highlights include: - Supporting the recognition of Kathleen Butler, the fourth female engineer to receive a blue plaque, celebrating her contributions to the profession. A big thanks to Bill Phippen from Herritage Committee. - Strengthening collaborations between industry, academia, and schools to inspire and support the next generation of engineers. -Establishing the Sydney Migrant Engineers (SME) group as a formal subcommittee of the Sydney Division and successfully nominating them for the President’s Prize, which they proudly won at the national level. It has been an incredible journey to lead as President of Engineers Australia’s Sydney Division. These accomplishments represent the collective efforts of a passionate and dedicated community, and I am deeply honoured to have contributed to shaping a stronger, more inclusive engineering profession. Thank you to everyone in Sydney Division committees Nicole Waterman, Andy Petrie, Diana Zagora, Jonathan Devasagayam, Peter Tow, Kakoli Das, Meg Baldo, Bruce Howard, Samantha Stojanovski , Jamie Burrage, Nicole Patten , Briseida T. and Caryn Morgan not forgetting our sub group committee, Christophe Camille, Jessica Qiu, Gaudioso Jr Balot MIEAust CPEng NER, Anthony Cavasinni, Sarah Bouhayat and Ghizlane Chergaoui who supported me in this role—it’s been a rewarding experience that I’ll always cherish!
