This is invaluable. It's tough when you have an idea of the career path you want to follow, but there isn't a lot of support for it. Luckily, healthcare is universal so it's great to see a program dedicated to helping students get started. When in the pipeline do you start training to perform under pressure?

Successfully Completed Term 1 with a 4.0 GPA! 🎉 Now, I’m starting Term 2 at SNHU, diving into Fundamentals of Public Health 101. On Day 1, I’ve already gained some exciting insights from Chapters 1 and 2: Chapter 1: The Evolution of Public Health •Learned how public health approaches evolved—from early measures like sanitation and quarantine to today’s “Population Health” approach, which includes social, economic, and environmental factors. •Explored the “BIG GEMS” framework, which describes key health determinants: Behavior, Infection, Genetics, Geography, Environment, Medical Care, and Socioeconomic-cultural factors. Chapter 2: Evidence-Based Public Health (EBPH) •EBPH emphasizes using scientific evidence to guide effective, efficient public health decisions. •Reviewed the hierarchy of evidence, from systematic reviews to case studies, and discussed assessing the quality of research to ensure impactful interventions. •Learned about involving community stakeholders to ensure culturally relevant and community-specific health interventions. From overcoming early barriers to navigating discouragement, my journey has been a testament to perseverance. This journey has equipped me with a nuanced understanding of how diverse factors intersect to shape population health outcomes.
