The lack of women in leadership is a pervasive issue in the staffing industry. In their recent episode of Recruiters in cars getting coffee, Lauren B. Jones 🐐, founder and CEO of Leap Advisory Partners, and our founder Dries De Coster chatted about why there is such a disparity between men's and women's success in recruitment leadership. "Statistically, men are promoted on potential, women are promoted on results." A very astute observation, and one that AI could have a genuine impact on, though tracking and standardising promotion processes and interrupting patterns of bias. As women of color, we're constantly told to work on our "executive presence." Polish that image. Speak a certain way. Dress the part. But you know what? I'm calling BS on that whole game. In my journey, I've realized true influence isn't about fitting in and drinking the corporate kool-aid. It's about embracing our unique perspectives and sharing our hard-earned knowledge. Think about the women of color who've inspired you. Bet it wasn't their power suit that left an impression. It was their ideas, their innovation, their ability to navigate and challenge the system. That's Thought Leadership, ladies. And it's our secret weapon. Instead of trying to look like everyone else in the room, let's focus on bringing fresh ideas to the table. On solving problems no one else can see. On lifting up other voices that often go unheard. When we share our authentic insights and experiences, that's when people really start to listen. That's when we create lasting change - in our careers and our communities. Want to dive deeper into this? I just recorded a podcast breaking down the myth of "executive presence" and how we can redefine leadership and focus on our thought leadership. Give it a listen! https://lnkd.in/gtitygQX And if you're ready to step into your power as a Thought Leader, let's talk! In my 1:1 coaching sessions, we work on amplifying your unique voice and expertise. No cookie-cutter advice - just strategies tailored to your experiences and goals as a woman of color in leadership. Your voice matters. Your ideas matter. Don't let anyone tell you to focus on "presence" over substance. Share your story. Speak your truth. That's how we redefine leadership. Who's inspired you with their thoughts and ideas, not their image? Let's shout them out in the comments! #WomenOfColorLead #ThoughtLeadership #RedefiningInfluence #AuthenticLeadership

As a woman leader, one of the major challenges we face includes having the imbalance between life and work. I have gone through different researches to understand if the issue is what women in different walks of life and continent feels. This imbalance creates burn out and incompetency for a woman to remain effective and competent. I came across the following image form the website of center for creative leadership’s page. It says for a woman leader to be successful; she needs to pay attention to 4 things. Namely Agency, Authenticity, connection and wholeness. Please take a look at them.
