Ready to ditch the asphalt and hit the dirt? Here’s why you should enroll in an off-road course before you do: Think of it like swapping your office shoes for hiking boots; it’s all about having the right tools for the adventure. A proper off-road course doesn’t just keep you from spinning your wheels—it turns you into the trail-blazing, mud-slinging hero of your own weekend saga. Plus, it’s the only place where “getting stuck” means you’re doing something right, and where “taking the scenic route” involves a bit more than missing your freeway exit. Don’t let your 4x4 skills be as underused as that gym membership you got in January. Sign up for our course, and let’s put those driving skills to the ultimate test. After all, why should your vehicle’s all-terrain features have all the fun? Join us and become the off-road champion you were always meant to be. See you on the trails!

I used to run beginner mountain biking clinics. For many, the hardest part of mountain biking is making it to the top of long or steep climbs. Content and social media marketing often feel like lengthy uphill battles, don't they? Each step in the approval process is another root or jagged rock you have to traverse without slicing your tire. The constant back-and-forth that provides little value or actionable next steps leaves you feeling like you're not moving forward. The steepest parts of the climb never seem to get easier. I have one piece of advice for those feeling the deep ruts and relentless slowdowns of the marketing process. Whenever you want to throw up your hands in frustration and hop off your bike, try to get in a few more pedal strokes. If you inch forward each time it gets hard, rather than giving up or giving in to fatigue, you'll eventually find that those last few inches, those last hard-fought pedal strokes have delivered you to the top of the climb. While it's not always a smooth downhill or flowing flat singletrack at the top of that climb, you can still celebrate making it to the top. Slow, steady, small gains work in marketing, mountain biking, and more. Keep pedaling!

Have you even been mountain biking? Last weekend, my husband and I loaded up our bikes and headed to some local mountain biking trails. Let me give you the details: 1. We retrieved our bikes out of the hay loft in the barn where they've been sitting for 10ish years. 2. I don't have a mountain bike so "my" bike for the day was my daughter's. 3. We are road cyclists. 4. Someone at the trailhead asked, "Where do you usually ride?" and my husband responded..."Ummm, we don't!" 5. That person told us to stay on the green trails 🤣 So off we went. How hard could it be? Let me tell you. I have never done a sport that has forced me to be so present. There is ZERO opportunity to zone out. There is ZERO opportunity to not pay attention. There is ZERO chance that you won't crash if you are watching where you are going every single second. We both stayed upright the whole time. We accidentally got on a blue trail and survived. We will absolutely do it again. I will wear gloves and pants and long sleeves next time. I will remove the kickstand so it doesn't get caught on tree stumps 🤣 I will grease the chain and check the brake pads before we ride again. Sometimes mindfulness looks different than we might think. Mountain biking is my new tool to practice being present. What works for you? [road biking picture because I was so present I forgot to take a picture 😎]

First run in…a while! Had a good “run”(ha!) earlier in the year - pretty much once a week for the first 6 months but since then its drifted a bit Partly due to doing more mountain biking over the Summer, partly due to, well…stuff…the usual stuff that can knock us off track with any habit There’s a couple of things I do myself and advise clients on when it comes to restarting a habit like this: Make it easy. You don’t have to go right back to what you were doing before. For example, if you were running for half an hour, plan to to 10 minutes Enlist some help. For me, I got the kids and Anna out on their bikes so then I had to run with them. Do it with a friend. Do it with your trainer/coach. The Joy of Mountain Biking Mountain biking is more than just a sport; it’s a journey through nature’s playground, where every trail is a canvas and every ride is a brushstroke on the masterpiece of life. As you navigate twists and turns, you’ll discover that mountain biking is not just about speed; it’s a dance with the terrain, a rhythmic connection between rider and earth. “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein. This quote perfectly captures the essence of mountain biking. Each pedal stroke propels you forward, both physically and mentally, helping to clear the fog of daily stress. The adrenaline rush is invigorating, igniting a fire within that keeps you pushing your limits. But let’s not forget the importance of quality gear. Just as a painter needs the right brushes, a mountain biker needs reliable equipment to navigate the rugged landscape. Quality grips, tires, and helmets not only enhance performance but also ensure safety. Investing in the right gear is like choosing the right shoes for a dance—without it, you risk losing your rhythm. So, gear up, hit the trails, and let the mountains whisper their secrets to you. Embrace the journey, and remember: every ride is a step towards better health, greater joy, and an unbreakable bond with nature.

after my post yesterday about sourdough bread I went for a bike ride and stopped to enjoy the view...and so... Why mountain biking is like delivering a presentation Mountain biking and delivering a presentation both require preparation, focus, and skill in order to be successful. Here are some ways in which mountain biking is like delivering a presentation: 1. Preparation: Just like preparing for a presentation, mountain biking requires planning and preparation. This includes choosing the right gear, knowing the route, and understanding the terrain. 2. Focus: Both activities require a high level of focus in order to navigate obstacles and challenges effectively. In mountain biking, you need to focus on the trail ahead and anticipate any potential hazards. Similarly, during a presentation, you need to focus on delivering your message clearly and engaging your audience. 3. Skill: Both mountain biking and delivering a presentation require a certain level of skill and expertise. In mountain biking, you need to have good balance, coordination, and bike handling skills to navigate technical terrain. Similarly, in delivering a presentation, you need to have good communication skills, confidence, and the ability to engage your audience. 4. Adaptability: Both activities require the ability to adapt to changing conditions. In mountain biking, you may encounter unexpected obstacles or changes in the terrain that require quick thinking and adjustments. Similarly, during a presentation, you may need to adapt to audience reactions or unexpected technical issues. 5. Overcoming challenges: Both mountain biking and delivering a presentation involve overcoming challenges and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. In mountain biking, you may face steep climbs, technical descents, or challenging obstacles that require determination and perseverance. Similarly, delivering a presentation may require you to overcome nerves, handle tough questions, or navigate difficult topics. Overall, both mountain biking and delivering a presentation require a combination of preparation, focus, skill, adaptability, and the ability to overcome challenges in order to be successful.
