I'm launching something soon that I've been working on for quite a bit, and pondering even longer. My own newsletter It's going to be part of a larger effort of formalizing the things I've been doing on the side Earlier this year, I made it up to $30k/mo consulting through nothing but linkedin content I had no website, no landing pages, no courses, nothing But this chaotic non-structure is one of the reasons I stopped doing all of that I had to take a step back to figure out what I even wanted to do on the side I started thinking about minimal, but impactful services I could offer (more on that later) and the brand I could build for myself I settled on the name 'Side Quest' - that's what it is for me, a journey on the side, apart from my primary one (Clay) - that's what it is for the companies that will be working with me, a journey on the side, shows and skits aren't their primary marketing bets - it's video game themed And so, under Side Quest, I'll be doing some things I've always wanted to do such as starting my own blog to begin documenting my frameworks, concepts, methods or writing a book on my different content marketing concepts Which brings me back to my newsletter 'Quest Log' Here's how it will work: - every newsletter I send out, I'll break down a concept I've made, such as 'Substance & Delivery' - I'll also assign a "task" that is related to the concept I wrote about - I'll follow themes for a few newsletters at a time so they are easier to follow and act on So, for example, I'm thinking the first few newsletters will be around "let's build a product-based show together" So the first newsletter will look like this: Quest Log #1 - Let's build a product-based show I would then break down the first concept you'd need to understand and assign a task If you follow along, and do the tasks, by the time we're done, you will have created a product-based show for your company (e.g. 1 Minute Claybooks, Can You Dashboard It?). Then, if you ever go search for my newsletter in your inbox, you'll see Quest Log #24... Quest Log #23.... Quest Log #22... and so on, just like an actual quest log in a video game haha Also side note, I'm using ActiveCampaign to create this newsletter and they're literally helping me set up like different paths and stuff for people who do the tasks, who don't, etc., to make it more interactive, again, like a video game. Huge, huge shout out to Casey Hill and the team for working with me on this! So, aside from Clay stuff, this is something I've been thinking about in the back of my head for a while and I'm glad to finally start bringing it all to life, starting with the newsletter. let me know if you'd be interested in subscribing to something like this?
