Before applying for that international remote job ensure to check the region/continent stated on the job description as well as the timezone. When you see remote on a job ads, it doesn't necessarily mean the recruiter is open to take everyone from every part of the world. Some companies indicate expressly on the JD the location their applicants should come from while some companies are quite subtle. For instance if you see a Job Ads in this format "Product Manager (Remote) UK" This means that the role is open to only people in UK except you are relocating to UK if not it may not be worth pushing because the organisation has stated the condition that you should be a residence of UK. Also some Job Ads come with words like 🔥EMEA (meaning the job is for those in Europe, Middle east and Africa) 🔥LATAM (meaning the job is for those in Latin America ) 🔥APAC (meaning the job is for those in Asia -Pacific) Some companies also indicate their preferred time zone. So why will I be in Nigeria and applying for a job that stated that they want only people living in the PST OR MST zone. (time zone in the US) Finally, for more clarity reach out to the recruiter that posted the job or search for any recruiter that works in that organisation for a proper guide. You can't go wrong when you ask appropriate questions. PS: Thank you FITC Nigeria Team for this great recognition.
Yes, JD usually state the region, if you go ahead and apply some might be kind enough to give you a response, others would outrightly ignore. Congratulations 🎉🎉 for the recognition.
This is a helpful reminder about location considerations for remote jobs! For those of us applying to jobs with flexible locations, what are some tips for demonstrating that we can effectively collaborate across time zones?
