“What you should think about is within your organization, especially if you're large, is how many people share one seat,” Stephen Powers, co-founder of OPEN Impact Real Estate told NYN Media at its 2024 Opcon event last week, where nonprofit leaders shared best strategies to optimize operations. “Once you figure out within those teams, what those ratios are, and who needs to be in the office at the same time for productivity, for collaboration and training – then you can think about the right type of hybrid strategy for your organization, because the worst thing to do is to not have a plan in place, and to tell people to come in one or two days a week [without the] resources they need to actually deliver on the work in a productive, efficient way. Be intentional and really plan this out.” Lindsay Ornstein #nonprofitorganization #nycrealestate #realestate #realestatenyc #leasing #officeleasing #nonprofits #nonprofit #nonprofitstrategy #nonprofitsuccess #nonprofitconsulting #commercialleasing #commercialbroker #commercialleasing #commercialrealestate #realestatestrategy #realestatestrategies #womenownedbusiness #womenownedbusinesses #realestateconsultant

Nonprofits with high turnover may need to do some work to understand why that may be the case for their respective organization. Nonprofit workers are highly passionate and driven, and in my experience, they often leave organizations when they feel as though there is a direct disconnect between their work and either their compensation or the way they are treated by those around them. I’m not saying that all non-profit challenges come down to pay or cultural issues, but it sure is a good place for a struggling nonprofit to start. #Nonprofit #Leadership #Culture

Anyone who has ever worked in the ecosystem of building #nonprofit-#corporatepartnerships knows the inherent challenges and resources involved - sometimes it pays off, and sometimes you feel like you're simply investing in something without a clear outcome. Even worse, the partnerships where only one side benefits, which was all too often the case years ago in the humanitarian sector (anyone else remember the instances of completely irrelevant corporate goods being donated during a crisis? Yikes, thankfully, we see less and less of this now). For some modern-day insights on how to build effective nonprofit-corporate partnerships, check out these practical tips from my recent blog post with Fox Advancement. Corporations are not just funders but partners empowered to direct their support where it matters most, recognizing nonprofits as experts in addressing societal challenges. As we all navigate these changes, understanding and leveraging the four trends that will help you redefine your partnership paradigms is essential for any nonprofit aiming to enhance its CSR strategies and foster stronger corporate partnerships.
