✨ Facing My Fears: My First Coding Competition Experience ✨ I've always been apprehensive about participating in coding competitions and hackathons. The idea of competing against so many talented individuals used to intimidate me. However, I recently decided to face my fears and take part in the DEN Coding Cup, organized by the Digital Empowerment Network, which took place yesterday. I'm thrilled to share that not only did I step out of my comfort zone, but I also did a pretty good job! 🙌🏻 This experience taught me the value of facing my fears head-on. It was a reminder that growth happens when we push ourselves beyond our limits. One of the best ways of learning to build, collaborate and experiment with new technologies is to participate in hackathons. I remember participating in my first hackathon in 2018, and I had yet to learn about coding or business propositions. Naturally! I was scared, maybe to a certain extent, petrified. However, participating in the hackathon was one of my best decisions during my university education. In hindsight, I have come to realise that hackathons serve as mini-internships and create an environment for embracing change. If you are a student or even an early career professional, hackathons are a sure-shot way to network, collaborate and even brainstorm ideas that may be scary to the city.
