During the seminar, a participant inquired about how one could dispel false rumors, despite their best efforts to maintain a positive reputation. A Perspective from the Organization as a Business My current work environment consists of just over 20 people with whom I work directly, and more than 50 people with whom I interact indirectly. The people I work with are from different departments, engaged in various tasks, and each has a different age and level in the organization. If we consider the organization as a system in which individual departments operate autonomously, then we see that each department is a distinct unit with its own interests and goals in addition to the organization’s overall objectives. When I have an interest in another department, I always aim for a clear barter between us. For example, if I need assistance from Department A, I must also provide some benefit to them. This creates a dual benefit for the organization’s outcomes, as any helpful action I take for Department A will ultimately benefit the organization. In return, the help I receive from Department A will also be advantageous to the organization since we’re both operating within the same framework. Thus, maintaining a mutually beneficial barter system between departments doubles the benefits for the organization. Therefore, it’s crucial to understand what requests you make to another department and what you can offer in return.
