#AI, IT IS COMING! “In a Supreme Court case I am currently working on, I have read and tagged over 10 law books, 15 court cases, had lengthy discussions with other lawyers in the firm and guess what, this is only the beginning and I have not even started writing my submission. Meanwhile, considerable time and effort has already been expended not forgetting the time and effort spent in reviewing the three-volume record of appeal to find that one page was missing. Imagine a world where all these were done by AI and results given to me in seconds. That would certainly be a game-changer!” In this article, our Partner Nana Yaw Ntrakwah explores the potential of #AI in the #legal profession, explaining how it could reshape some traditional processes and transform the way #legal services are provided. Is the legal world ready for the rise of AI? I recently read an article discussing how artificial intelligence is gradually transforming the legal industry. Having spent some time in tech and consulting, the evolving landscape of law resonates with me deeply. I recall a project where we implemented an AI-driven solution to streamline contract analysis. It was remarkable to see how much time we saved and the reduction in human error. The article emphasizes that AI isn't just about efficiency; it raises questions about ethics and the role of human lawyers. It’s essential to find that balance between innovation and the human touch, especially in law. The insights shared highlight the need for legal professionals to adapt and embrace these changes rather than resist them. It’s clear that AI can enhance legal processes, but I'm curious to hear from others: what are your thoughts on the implications of AI in law? Let's discuss how we can harness technology while ensuring ethical standards. https://lnkd.in/d2QGv9U8

Want to hear something funny? In my legal case against LAION e.V., the opposing party's lawyers argue that, according to the new EU AI law, it should be documented which works were used to train a generative AI. From this they conclude that training with these works should be expressly legal as long as it is documented. What do you think? #ai #ki #legal #law #aiact

A common question people ask is whether their role is under threat of being made redundant by AI. This article summarises the role of tech💻 in law⚖ very well, at least from the point of view of a practitioner. While AI will be instrumental in conducting more basic tasks like compiling, drafting, proof-reading and research, it will not replace the role of a lawyer altogether. Rather, the legal profession needs to adapt to incorporate AI into daily work - meaning the tasks performed by lawyers will be higher-order, and ultimately more productive💲. While it is a challenge for both younger and older lawyers alike to integrate AI into their work, change is both necessary and inevitable. If you would like to have a ☕ chat about how to transition into this new AI-driven phase, or build up a more tech-savvy Legal team, do reach out today at [email protected] #bties #legal #sglaw #legaltech #legalai
