Hey LepTVET fam! TVET colleges' opening and closing dates for the NSFAS applications for the remaining cycles of the 2024 academic year. It is important to note that students should apply for the relevant academic cycle in which they intend to register. Dates: Trimester 2: May 13-30, 2024. Semester 2: July 09-26, 2024. Trimester 3: September 02-20, 2024. The method of application for all remaining cycles in 2024 remains the same as the one used by students to apply for NSFAS funding for the first cycle of 2024. This means that students will apply online for themselves through the NSFAS website. New applicants should also be reminded to create a profile and consider themselves to have applied is not enough; they should continue with the process of completing the application until the final step of submitting it. Incredible Opportunity for College Students! 🎓    Off the Battlefield Foundation (OBF) has launched its first university chapter at the University of Florida! 🚀     This chapter is called the Ukraine Rebuilding Initiative and will focus on creating a sister-city alliance between the City of Gainesville, Florida and the City of Nizhyn in Ukraine. The team will be infusing this alliance with five division-based projects:    1. Engineering: Building bomb shelters at bus stops in Nizhyn’s community. 🏗  2. Public Health: Delivering medical and nutrition-based packages to Nizhyn community members. 📦  3. Prosthetics: Working on programs for limb substitutes and mobility support for war victims. 💪  4. Agriculture: Aligning the university’s research with Nizhyn’s farming needs. 👨🌾  5. Cultural Affairs: Creating cultural exchanges between students from the University of Florida and Nizhyn Gogol State University. 🗣 This initiative is just the beginning of OBF's mission. For many years, IVC has been recognized for our #1 transfer rate, most recently by the U.S. Department of Education which highlighted the community colleges with highest transfer-out rate for Title IV students, by state and Irvine Valley College was identified as the CC with the highest transfer rate within California. What is equally commendable is how well our transfer students perform after they transfer. Data collected by the college reveals that students who transfer from IVC to four-year universities generally achieved higher graduation rates than those who began their academic journey directly at four-year institutions. For IVC’s top 25 transfer institutions, students had on average a 6% higher graduation rate within 4-years after transferring compared to the 6-year graduation rate reported by that institution.  #ivc #irvinevalleycollege #studentsuccess #transferculture #transfersuccess #studentaccess #boldpossibilities
