As I start the 38th year of my corporate life on July 7, I look back at the road I traveled and reflect on my feelings. I feel #grateful for every person who crossed my path, as each have contributed in some way for where I’m today. I couldn’t have made it alone. I feel #lucky too, as I can’t credit myself for all successes & I feel #hopeful as every setback I have faced have taught me #resilience Starting my work life with strong middle class values of - hard work, being open to opportunities and being trustworthy to keep going helped me to take the right calls whenever I faced a dilemma or paradoxical questions. The speech delivered by Mr NJ Yasawy in ICFAI auditorium at Hyderabad, on the 1991 Union Budget, which I attended in person changed my outlook and I switched to the private sector. There was no looking back. This taught me #RiskTaking After many cross country movements and joining Conoco in 1998, helped me understand the nuances of a #startup working. After some more movements across a few MNC and international travel across continents helped me develop #CrossCulturalSensitivity and #Openmindedness . My #ContinuingEducation started with going back to school - #IIMC The next decade of my career I stayed with one company which had just embarked on #TQM journey and was expanding internationally. This decade helped me work in China, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Middle East and Africa more deeply. This was the decade when my #LifeLongLearning started. Got certified as an #ExecutiveCoach and getting into the world of #BusinessAnalytics at Great Lakes Institute of Management. Moving on further started managing a full P&L and got initiated into #BusinessTransformation and #DigitalTransformation learning the nuances of #AI #ML and more from #IIML and doing some hands on work. As #Sustainability gets into #BusinessStrategy while the world is grappling with climate change and social issues, I have got myself trained in the areas of #ESG, #CorporateGovernance through #IODIndia and #IICA to become a certified independent director enlisted with the Independent Directors Databank of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. Today is the #Day1 of rest of my life. I’m still #curious about the emerging business environment constantly disrupted by technology and other factors. I am as #openminded as I was on July 7, 1987 to learn and grow. I’m hopeful and confident that #Day1 mindset will surely strengthen my #GrowthMindset to continue on the journey of life long learning and contribution in the #VUCA world ahead. #JourneyContinues #LearingContinues #Gratitude
