We’re excited to be exhibiting at this weekend’s Retina Update 2024 presented by the OPTOMETRIC RETINA SOCIETY and Review Education Group. Our VP of Product, Nishant Mohan, will be sharing the latest and greatest on our ForeseeHome AMD Monitoring Program, which is proven to help doctors detect wet #AMD earlier for better long-term outcomes. The agenda is filled with excellent retina-related topics pertinent to today’s medically minded optometrists. We look forward to presentations from Steven Ferrucci, OD, Mohammad Rafieetary , OD, FAAO, FORS, Dipl ABO, ABCMO, Mark Dunbar, OD, Jay Haynie, OD, Salar Rafieetary, MD, and Mary Beth Yackey, OD. #eyesoninnovation #remotemonitoring #digitalhealth #optometry

On display at American Academy Of Optometry's #Academy24 in Indianapolis: a poster demonstrating that AI-powered home monitoring programs, like ForeseeHome, make a meaningful impact in the care of #AMD patients by optometrists. Jonathan Weston, OD, Mary Beth Yackey, OD and Mohammad Rafieetary , OD, FAAO, FORS, Dipl ABO, ABCMO present an analysis of AI-based remote monitoring use in optometric settings. They found that there is no difference in visual or management outcomes between patients referred by optometrists and those by ophthalmologists for the ForeseeHome AMD Monitoring Program. This shows an AI-based tool for remote patient monitoring can be successfully used by optometry, further enhancing care for patients. #eyesoninnovation #optometry #digitalhealth #artificialintelligence #remotemonitoring

"At the Great Western Council of Optometry meeting in 2022, Leo Semes, OD, FAAO—an optometric retina pioneer and frequent contributor to this journal—gave a lecture called 'I Care About the Vitreous and You Should, Too.' His talk made sense; there is no disputing that everyone has a vitreous, which is guaranteed to go through degenerative changes and possibly lead to patient complaints of flashes or floaters, or visual sequelae from vitreomacular interface abnormalities through the evolution of a posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). This brings a lot of people into our offices and emphasizes Semes’ lecture title; we should pay attention to the vitreous," writes Jim Williamson, OD, FAAO, FORS. Tomorrow is World Optometry Day, which celebrates all the Optometrists. The day was launched by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, aiming to draw attention to Doctors of Optometry. Fun fact: the first tool used to help vision was a reading stone invented in 1,000 AD. It consisted of a glass sphere placed on top of the text to magnify words. #worldoptometryweek #Imprimisrx #Optometry #WorldOptometryDay

Most #optometrists in this survey reported negative ROI for their equipment purchase. 🤨 Don't let that be you 👇 Review of Optometry recently published the results of a survey asking optometrists about the recent technology purchases within their practices. See the full article link in the comments below. Only about 2 out of 5 respondents experienced some increase in their bottom line! 😩 One promising finding was that ~75% of #optometrists surveyed now have an OCT, up ~7% from 2 years ago. 👏 How do we ensure our new purchase doesn't create a negative ROI? The answer is that it is as easy as ✅ using specific metrics and ✅ following the clinical practice guidelines to detect and manage relevant conditions. #maculardegeneration #glaucoma #Optometry #MedicalEyeCare #OptometricPractice #PatientCare #EvidenceBasedOptometry #VisionCare #EyeHealth #OptometricEducation #PracticeGrowth #CollaborativeCare
