This article from NPR reporting on new data from the The Center for Election Innovation & Research provides great insight and visualizations of state-by-state voting access trends over the past two decades. While voting has become easier as most states have expanded voting options to include in-person early voting and mail voting, the South still lags behind most other regions of the country. https://lnkd.in/gTxjgvKW #votingaccess #votingtrends #voterturnout #TNVotes #GoVoteTN #mailvoting #earlyvoting #votingresearch

What makes democracy run? A really good website. Well, a good website that gives voters the information they need to get to the polls and make their voices heard. A good website that seamlessly organizes voting locations across the county and makes them searchable. A good website that puts important registration and voting dates front and center. A website like vote.indy.gov. We were so excited to work with Indy Votes to create this new website ahead of a critical election year. Check it out and make sure you're registered to make your vote count. It's you who really makes democracy run (with the help of this website 😉).

Celebrate #DisabilityVotingRightsWeek, September 9-13, by checking out the available voting resources from the National Federation of the Blind. Here is the link: https://lnkd.in/eFdwUCTR Among the resources are videos that demonstrate how to mark a ballot with four of the most commonly used ballot marking devices, or BMDs. NFB surveys of blind and low-vision voters following elections since 2008 found as many as one-third of all poll workers do not know how to operate BMDs, and that some blind and low-vision voters are also not familiar with their accessibility features. The result is that too many blind and low-vision voters end up voting with assistance rather than privately and independently using the BMD. Now is the time to study up!
