🌟 Inspiring Entrepreneurial Story 🌟 Meet Nuraizah Shamsul Baharin, the powerhouse behind MADCash in Malaysia and a 2022 #WEEmpower Finalist. As the Managing Director, she’s reshaping the landscape for women entrepreneurs, breaking barriers, and fostering financial empowerment for women in Malaysia. “We need to inculcate the mindset that as a woman, one can be rich, one can be successful and this is only achieved if we take a woman out of their community and connect them with mentors that have walked that path, thus giving them permission to be all that they can be.” Nuraizah’s vision is crystal clear: connecting women with mentors, providing access to capital, and paving the way for success. Through MADCash, Nuraizah is making waves with microlending, offering 0% interest loans that empower women to turn their dreams into reality. Why are we not funding female startup founders in Africa WITH MONEY? I see 4 problems. It's either.. 👉🏽 Investor bias, whether conscious or unconscious, against women entrepreneurs. (would having more female investors help? ) OR.. 👉🏽 We are saying women do not have businesses worth funding. They do not have what it takes to run profitable and sustainable businesses. (explaining the many capacity building & mentorship programs that are populated by mostly women) OR.. 👉🏽 We are saying female startup founders are not pitching as good as their male counterparts (uuuhm 😏) OR.. 👉🏽 Female founders are not pitching their ideas. (🤔 ) Because how do we justify female founders getting only 1% of the total funding captured by startups in Africa SINCE 2019 TO DATE? My big question is: How can Investors, Founders, & African governments help bridge this gap? We are discussing this and more this Friday. Link to join the chat is in the comments. #StateOfStartupsInAfrica #SOSIA African Founders Association PS: I find it insightful that majority of the attendees are Investors 🤔🤔

🌟 Experiencing Rwanda's Entrepreneurial Potential Firsthand! 🌟 It was the first time for me to dive deep into the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kigali, Rwanda. It seems like a tiny country, but with huge entrepreneurial potential, especially for women. I had the great pleasure to meet two of them Berabose Aline Joyce, founder of LUNA at the incredible Norrsken East Africa House Kigali and Luladey Takele Teshome. For more details and insights into Rwanda's emerging tech entrepreneurs, especially the remarkable contributions of women, read this article written by Kanto Ranaivosoa and myself: https://lnkd.in/d7VhZTxF #impact #entrepreneurship #Africa #femalefounders
