NC TECH recently hosted Brews + Bytes + Insights, a special Cybersecurity edition of our popular networking event. This event was a component of the Center for Technology Workforce Innovation, a partnership between NC TECH and MetLife. The event featured Dan Antilley, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at MetLife, who joined Wendy Kaszak on stage at MetLife's Cary campus for a discussion about the evolving cybersecurity landscape. Antilley shared his perspective on the "alternative PhD" for success in information security: Passion, Humility, and Determination. Following the main discussion, attendees participated in engaging tabletop discussions led by MetLife's Ryan Powell, Tony Granata, Aaron Ades, and Stefan Kelber. Topics highlighted: 💠 New security approaches to support evolving technologies 💠 You can’t protect what you can’t see. Understanding your evolving Attack Surface 💠 New threat tactics require advanced detection and response capabilities 💠 Identity is the new foundation of modern cybersecurity Thanks to everyone who joined us! It was a great chance to connect and share insights with the Triangle tech community. Watch for Brews + Bytes + Insights to continue in 2025! #TechTalentTuesday #Cybersecurity #NCTech
Wish we could have made it up for this one! Looks like it was great and informational.
Great event and interesting discussions!
excellent event and it was great to meet others in the Triangle
What an amazing event!. Thank you NC Tech, Dan Antilley, and the MetLife team for your active leadership. It matters!
I had a great time mingling with everyone and reconnecting with some I have met at other events. I found the topics to be relevant and especially enjoyed the conversations at the break out tables. My favorite part was the alternative PhD perspective. I’ve been using it to squash some end of year imposter syndrome creeping up!
Had a great time getting to connect with other professionals in the area!
Such a great event!
It was great to meet with the students and also other supporting companies.
