I did a fun little experiment this morning. As I sat down to write, I thought I'd do a prompt on ChatGPT to get a little inspiration. If I wanted to, I could've simply copy/pasted what I got out of it, and I would've had plenty for a good post. Honestly, it wouldn't even take much polishing to get something I'd be happy with, and it would've taken me probably 2 total minutes. I've heard it said "You won't lose your job from AI, but you might lose your job to someone who knows how to use it." Your homework assignment today is to go on YouTube and find an introductory video showing you how to use an AI service like ChatGPT, and figure out a way that it can streamline your workload.

My dad uses this ChatGPT trick almost every day (and I bet you don’t know it!). We’ve all been there; asking ChatGPT for a quick answer, but it just won’t stop writing. Here’s the fix: just add two words to your question: NO YAPPING. No yapping? Yep, GenZ slang for a GenZ AI. It cuts the fluff and gives you exactly what you need, fast. 📸 Check the video to see how it works. But if you want ChatGPT to give all the extra details? Use my dad’s second favorite phrase: Yap well well 😂. P.S. Would you try "No Yapping" or "Yap well well" for your next question?

📍My biggest fear is that someone buys someone else's book that has prompts that were written by ChatGPT. It doesn't really work. They go, "oh, I guess this is a fad." And then in two years when their boss says, "everybody who can't use AI is fired." They say, 'but I tried and it didn't work.' ...and it's not their fault. That's the thing that breaks my heart. Those bad teachers . They can do so much damage pretending that it's a victimless crime. That not putting out a good book or cutting corners on your product doesn't hurt anyone. But it does. In the next few years, companies are gonna say things like, 'if you want to keep your job, you need three years of AI experience.' A company that I work with, already told their entire staff, "come in Monday with a plan to use AI to do your job faster, or don't come in." That's why I'm passionate about teaching AI. That's why I give my book away for free. Send this to a colleague who writes everything with ChatGPT (part 2): "Hi, one other AI tip I found on LinkedIn: Tell ChatGPT 'Don't be lazy' and stress the task is 'critical to my career'. Applying pressure produces better outputs." 💡 Most people don't know this tip....did you? 👋 I’m Isabella, founder of Tyde.AI. And now a word from our favorite AI, ChatGPT! Don't ask ChatGPT for help with your stand-up routine! Transcript of recent conversation with ChatGPT: Bruce Augustine: Tell me a joke ChatGPT: Why don’t scientists trust atoms? Because they make up everything! Bruce Augustine: Tell me a GOOD joke ChatGPT: Why don't skeletons fight each other? They don't have the guts. Bruce Augustine: Tell me a joke that is funny ChatGPT: Why did the scarecrow win an award? Because he was outstanding in his field! Bruce Augustine: Tell me about your kids ChatGPT: I don't have any kids—I'm just a virtual assistant here to help you! Bruce Augustine: You must have kids, because you only know dad jokes! ChatGPT: You got me there! I guess I do have a knack for dad jokes. Want to hear another one? How do you organize a space party? You planet! #Humor #DadJokes #ChatGPT #AI

MY AI JOURNEY - PART 3 So first up in reviewing a few AI tools is ChatGPT - the current, free version. Months ago I tried the tool out with just some quick prompts and found it to be just okay. A friend told me she used it to re-write her cover letter when looking for a job and she said it did a good job. I had not heard any really great results otherwise except for some quick search results. So, I put ChatGPT through a few of trials which are summarized in the attached document.

Here’s How I Use ChatGPT to Organize My Thoughts! Many people talk about using AI LLMs to draft their ideas and then polish them up later. But I’ve found that doing the opposite works better for me. I just dump all my messy thoughts and ideas into ChatGPT, not worrying about spelling or grammar. Then, I add a little prompt that tells it to tidy it all up into a social media post or a report paragraph or whatever (you get the idea). Who else does it this way or am I just weird? #AI #ContentCreation #ChatGPT #Productivity #WritingTips

For all my fellow ChatGPT users! If you use ChatGPT often, here’s a fun little experiment: “Roast me based on our past conversations.” Trust me, you’ll get a mix of humor and some surprisingly accurate digs! It’s a fun way to see what AI has picked up from your chats. I gave it a shot, and let’s just say ChatGPT knows me a little too well. 😅 Give it a try when you need a break—and let me know how your roast turns out! #ChatGPT #AI #TechFun #AIHumor #JustForLaughs

Don't take all answers from the ChatGPT for granted... I am doing some learning on the site and I was checking some questions from a test I have done recently and the answer ChatGPT has given me got me thinking at first that maybe I studied wrong for the test. I went back to my study material and after a time I still believed I have answered the question correctly, contradicting the ChatGPT. Despite it beeing just AI, I politely asked: "Are you sure?" Lo and behold ChatGPT has changed it's answer. Even AI has to be fact checked from time to time :-) #CriticalThinking #FactChecking #LearningJourney #AIinEducation

I've noticed this—have you? Constantly using generative AI tools like ChatGPT has sometimes made it harder to do the work I am using it for. Link to PsyPost article on initial studies looking at the impact of ChatGPT on academics. I noticed this early last year and probably posted about it. 1// I had less of an attention span (sort of like what happens with social media) 2// I procrastinated more (probably because I was getting used to what ChatGPT could do but frequently hit its limits, which forced me, a human, to do the work) 3// I changed the way I worked to be ChatGPT-first making sure I got the potential gains form using it, but changed my entire workflow to be unoptimized for my human work These things are interesting and worth considering. I've started putting guardrails up for my use of tools like ChatGPT. I get insane value from them, but there's a trade-off.
