After years of hard work, delighted to see this roll out.
Transforming India’s Public Distribution System! The Department of Food & Public Distribution, Government of India has launched the "Anna Chakra" — a PDS optimization tool developed through the impactful partnership between Public Systems Lab, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer, IIT Delhi and United Nations World Food Programme India. This tool is set to revolutionize one of the world’s largest food safety nets, ensuring faster and more efficient foodgrain delivery to over 81 crore PDS beneficiaries. By optimizing supply chain routes, Anna Chakra reduces transport distances, cuts carbon emissions, and saves crores of rupees annually, aligning with India’s climate and sustainability goals. A proud moment, with the launch officiated by Hon’ble Minister Mr. Pralhad Joshi and Union Ministers of State Ms. Nimuben J. Bambhaniya and Mr. B.L. Verma.
