The U.S. Federal government’s FY 2026 Cybersecurity Priorities put open source security front and center, aiming to secure the software supply chain and support open source sustainability. This focus aligns with Pillar 1 of the U.S. National Cybersecurity Strategy (NCS)—Defend Critical Infrastructure. With initiatives like the Cybersecurity Executive Order 14028, NIST’s SSDF, and CISA’s Secure Software Development Attestation, federal agencies are intensifying efforts to safeguard critical OSS resources. But there’s a gap: many agencies lack mature processes for OSS security, while some, like the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, have adopted Open Source Program Offices (OSPOs) to manage and secure OSS effectively. Check my OpenSource Collaboration in the OpenCTI Project! 👥 🚀 The OpenCTI is an OpenSource platform for managing and sharing Cyber Threat Intelligence, fostering collaboration among organizations in analyzing and responding to cybersecurity incidents. I have deep-dived into the OpenCTI Platform deployment in Kubernetes in the last weeks, and I had a happiness to contribute to the official documentation of the project. I made some improvements related to the platform configuration and integration with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch and S3 bucket service.
