"Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated" - The Alcohol Industry I loved this framing from the recent "New Consumer" report from Coefficient Capital. The alcohol industry has been around for decades. Covid represented an unprecedented change in behavior (and lots of people drank a lot more as a result). My strong opinion is that we're currently experiencing a reset. Yes, there are changing consumer preferences and (like always) tastes are evolving. But the booze business has proven time and time again that it is resilient. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it... don't bet against booze! cc Top Shelf Ventures
The quote killed me 🤣 Also +1, love the reports Coefficient puts out. Confirms everything you’ve been saying about the industry.
I think you need to go a bit further back than “decades” to see just how long the alcohol industry has been around!
Resilience isn’t just about survival. It’s about coming back sharper, stronger, and undeniable.💯
That opening line made me LOL!
Yup! As discussed- completely agree...
Love this take! Thanks Noah!

3dYup. It's anecdotal on my side because I'm just in Seattle / the greater Seattle area, and while there's unquestionably a younger generation that stays home and doesn't go out as much, your point in that podcast I believe was that a post Covid return to reality was expected, and just remains to be seen with this generation that sits home does as they evolve their spending habits related to food and drink.
