The type of content you will write and the sort of audience you will draw to your profile lie in the question you want to answer for your audience. Depending on this question, you will have different results. Let me bring in clarity: If you create content to answer a broad question, such as “How to get rich”... You tend to reach a large audience, since this topic is interesting to most people. However, this content may not have good performance when it comes to sales or engagement because it won’t strongly resonate with people. It is tough to build with broad questions the required identification to resonate with people. Now, if you create a specific question, such as: “How you can create an outstanding post on LinkedIn by fixing the 8-letter word”... You tend to reach a small audience because few people are truly interested in this topic. (Actually, they are way less interested than “how to get rich” haha). Though your engagement and sales tend to enhance because you narrowed it down to the extent that people will easily identify with what you are proposing as a problem and solution. I’m promoting an event, and I know that not every follower reads every post and people need several reminders before making a decision. I still worry about over-sharing. How to balance content around promotion so the message gets through but doesn’t scare loyal followers away?" How to walk the fine line between not sharing enough (people not seeing your offerings and consequently not becoming clients) and sharing too much (leading to repetitive content that fails to create an authentic connection)? Here are five things to consider: 1️⃣ Balance different content types. In addition to publishing promotional content, include educational and value-added posts to your plan, and sprinkle some personal updates on top. 2️⃣ Think in seasons. A promotion-heavy season is fine, as long as it’s followed by time when more value-focused and educational content is shared. 3️⃣ Keep consistency. Publishing daily - even promotional posts! - works when your publishing frequency is consistent. Don’t show up only when you need to sell something. 4️⃣ Align with business goals. A business selling lots of units at a low price point requires a different content strategy than a consultancy serving 3-5 businesses a year. 5️⃣ Look at your calendar. How much time can you or your team spend on creating content? Adjust publication frequency to what is realistic and achievable.
