In this session, Boris Kurktcheiv will introduce the BACK Stack, a composable IDP that utilizes four widely adopted CNCF projects: Backstage (B), a self-service portal to empower developers; Argo CD (A), a GitOps-based continuous delivery tool to streamline software delivery; Crossplane (C), a universal control plane that simplifies self-service infrastructure provisioning through abstractions; and Kyverno (K), a Policy-as-Code tool that proactively detects and prevents misconfigurations. I have had some fun working and leading this project. While everyone is on the #platform bandwagon, nobody wants to talk about the ugly truth. We don’t have a way to solve the #blankpage problem. There is no reference architecture. I love the analogy: we need the new LAMP stack, the OG Platform, that powered the early 2000s internet innovation. So hear about it and #crossplane #kyverno #argocd #backstage and how we tie them together to make a starting point for innovation for today’s hyper-architected software needs

🚀 Gen-AI in Software Testing: Revolutionizing Code Deployment 🚀 Issue 6 of 7 in our Gen-AI Series In our penultimate chapter, we explore Code Deployment—a crucial phase in the software development lifecycle. 💡 How Gen-AI is Transforming Deployment: Using Gen-AI tools, our developers have automated key processes like: ✅ Infrastructure management ✅ CI/CD pipelines ✅ Monitoring and optimization The result? Faster, scalable, and fully optimized infrastructure that accelerates time-to-market while enhancing efficiency. Stay tuned! Next week, we’ll share a detailed case study showcasing the specific gains achieved with Gen-AI in action. #GenAI #SoftwareTesting #CICD #TechInnovation #CodeDeployment #AIInTech #CloudSolutions #SenecaGlobal https://lnkd.in/g4hs8m-F

Dependency Injection (DI) isn't just a buzzword—it's a game-changer! It promotes loose coupling, enhances testability, and makes code maintenance a breeze. Use services.AddTransient, AddScoped, and AddSingleton wisely! #dotnet #CleanCode #SOLIDPrinciples

A change like this ends trust, and without trust, one will stop using it. Buying new software takes years for enterprises, and I know that many currently using it will switch to something else then as it’s easier than buying from another company. I understand it’s just stable releases, but that’s often a requirement to consider the software being used. If it’s unstable, rather not. I get the reasons for doing this. However, I fear that this isn’t open source. Having a stable version matters. You could introduce an even more stable version with extra support, maybe extra features, which is common. If no one requires that - then perhaps it needs to be pure open source instead of a company doing it. You can’t force a business model. Either there is a need, or there isn’t. Changes like this aren’t okay—no matter the explanation. Linkerd is nice, but it’s also not alone in the market. Also, I am not sure it should be a cncf project anymore with such a change.

The biggest problem with Linkerd changing their distribution model is one of expectations. The expectation was that Linkerd releases would be free forever for all sizes *just because it was in the CNCF*. Project governance matters! In Argo Project we have four key maintainer companies and a half-dozen end-user maintainers with different interests in the project and a rule that no company can have more than 40% voting power. The idea that we would go to an enterprise-only license is practically impossible because of the governance we've set up. Governance matters. #OSS #GitOps Codefresh Update: the original post incorrectly stated there was a license change. This is not accurate. Buoyant is changing the distribution model for stable releases. Still OSS, still Apache 2.
