Yesterday, a former colleague reached out to me with some frustration. He had recently gone through two interviews with promising prospects but ended up declining both offers. Despite being told that he was a great fit, the offered salary packages were either the same as or lower than his current salary. One interviewer even suggested that joining a branded hotel from a non-branded one should be considered a career jump, even though it meant a pay cut. This experience raises a broader issue: in today’s competitive job market, attracting and retaining top talent is challenging. If you recognize potential in a candidate, it's crucial to support their financial needs accordingly. Investing in talent isn't just about filling a position—it's about fostering growth for both the individual and the organization. Remember, when we support our people, we empower them to contribute more effectively, and in turn, our companies grow. Let’s keep this in mind and make the effort to offer fair and motivating compensation. #TalentManagement #EmployeeValue #CareerGrowth #CompensationMatters

Interesting view but it once again boils down to which had come first was it egg or chick.. Brand does carry and gives us an image but if you don’t grow individually means some where we as an individual have failed 😞

That's a sad story , and is very prevalent. Hr tries to cut cost by suffocating candidates and make them feel that struggle is the only way of life . But times have changed empowered candidates can think more clearly and can wrk out of the box to create the best, wrking hard without a direction isn't always the best thing. People will find jobs which suit their personality more. Now it's upto the management to have an industry which is perceived to be full of people who can do " ji hazuri" or of smart well mannered people who can also think out of the box n create a revolution in the industry. To give an example, why did it take so many years to come up with a concept like postcard hotels with anytime check in , In the luxury business. These are strategic business decisions any hotel could have come up with. Changes can n should be suggested by employee of every level. Collaborate don't just employ .
