Bonjour Network, Well this has happened: 5 years! Who would have thought that I would create my own business - and a successful one - certainly not me! When I look back over my career, I have never been in a job more than 5 years so this is a first and perhaps I was always meant to be my own boss. Having said that I would never have got to where I am today if I had not had the career I had in the corporate and agency world as well as having a very supportive entourage (my husband, our two daughters and friends). As you know I went to the 'dark side' as I call it 9 years ago now and created my business 5 years ago. I had always been a corporate girl up until then. I do not regret my decision at all and it's probably one of the best decisions I ever made in my thirty years of career! No better place than #Dubai #UAE to create your own business - the land of opportunities and positiveness. Don't get me wrong though some days have been and are more challenging than others, especially and mainly in my head space haha! Fighting against should I or should I not, or I will never be able to do that or can't do. ⭐ My father always used to say that there is no such word as 'can't', it has always stuck with me - just try - what have you got to lose!. ⭐ One of my first bosses in advertising also used to say to me 'It's only advertising Nikki, we are not saving lives', so enjoy the ride. I have definitely learnt the true meaning of the word 'Resilience' over the years! ⭐ Big Merci to my wonderful network of client partners, candidates and friends who trust me to do my magic as a Matchmaker:-). Born in Spain. 💸 invested in 2 properties in Spain and Dubai, both of which I´ve nearly paid off. My main passive income and early retirement plan. Already thinking about my 3rd investment…- learn the compound effect in real state. 💻 worked as a Sales & Travel Consultant for 4 ish years. I learnt everything I needed to know about selling to my high-portfolio of clients. Selling is one of the best skills you can learn. 👩💻 worked PT at a marketing agency in Dubai. I gathered all the knowledge and prepared myself to take on clients as an entrepreneur. Prepare yourself before transitioning to a new role. 🧘♀️ consistently prioritize my mental and physical health to become the best version of myself. so you are resilient in your tough moments. 📈 invested in a coaching program and online marketing course. Don’t look at it as an expense; it’s an investment for your business growth. 🚀 created a PREMIUM offer that generates predictable income, makes a bigger impact on my client's business and frees up my time to KEEP growing my business. Can you see it? I am where I am today because I am not afraid to take RISKS; to me, there’s nothing scarier than the thought of remaining stagnant in the same place. This is my story. What’s yours? I moved to Dubai because of my husband’s job. This meant starting over – everything from scratch. It’s been 365 days since I started a new chapter of my life and moved to Dubai. Now I call this place my new home. Looking back, it feels like just yesterday when I was a young dreamer. It might sound obvious - but so many (myself included 🙋🏼♀️) … jump into working for themselves because they know they’re really good at what they do ~ and can help so many people… but if you can’t attract clients ~ you have no biz. 𝟰 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺. I was overthinking every single day about what’s going to happen. That’s when I closed a lead and delivered the best results for him! And things changed. I was happy and filled with confidence. I was working hard. Hustling like crazy. I lost sleep, and lost track of food. All I cared about was work! Because I had big dreams. I know I deserved more. My work had started speaking louder than I did. One year of hard work and I had my own Personal Branding Agency. 4 years later, my life has changed completely, and I feel a bit emotional as I write this post. - Worked with some of the biggest entrepreneurs and leadership in the country. - Managing a team of 20 people. - Have a wholesome audience of 20K+ on both LinkedIn and Instagram people. - Took 2 international trips this year, one to Thailand and one to Dubai. It looks all easy now. But it took a lot of sweat, blood, and sleep. But, I can proudly say it was all worth it! P.S. That’s me in Dubai! Having the best time of my life.
