Name of work: Waterproofing and rehabilitation of RCC cement plant of Shree cement ltd. burst of RCC Klinker & Flyash pits of a Laskar, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. History: A restoration of a burst of a 1500mm M60 RCC raft/floor of 2 klinker & flyash pits above at Laskar, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. In 2010 a typical case was referred to AAYKA by IITR. An under-construction cement plant of Shree cement ltd. that could not be completed / commissioned due to a burst of 2 klinker & flyash pits. These were attempted unsuccessfully by who’s who of waterproofing and construction industry in the country. The Challenge: The 2 pits were at -5.5m water table and all fines of RCC washed away due to SANDBOILING by continuous dewatering for 1 year by 10 discharge pumps of 100mm dia. The flow of water from floor gradually increased to a situation that IITR suggested abandoning the pits and constructing new ones. Now the real challenge was that the plant had been completed in reverse order till the pits and therefore, change of pit location was not feasible due to time limitations cut off of 3 days left for start of operations for entitlement of a 10 years benefit. 150 trucks of klinker and flyash ash were lined up at gate and all the plant was ready but for the connection of silo to pits & mill. The operation: AAYKA TEAM sealed the pits and handed over in 3 days x 3 shifts using their 3-stage injection grouting technology and their Dr. MIRACLE grouts. I remember core team working at site for continuous 21 hours without even a lunch break on last day from 9am to 6am next day. This job earned as a #SUPARIWATERPROOFING Wala tag as this work done on a lumpsum budget & fixed time frame No alibi’s No question asked…..and AAYKA continuous to time up to the reputation till date.
