Ever tried screen recording something to put into a vertical video? Yeah it's a nightmare. Don't worry I got you. 1. Set Up OBS Studio - Download OBS Studio and set the canvas to match your monitor’s resolution with a 9:16 aspect ratio. - If you have a vertical monitor, maximize the app you’re recording, add a display capture source in OBS, and hit record. 2. For Horizontal Monitors - Follow the same steps, but add an application capture source instead. - Squeeze the application to fit the 9:16 ratio in OBS. 3. Edit in Your Timeline - Once your footage is in your editing timeline, nest/merge all of the clips to simplify adjustments. 4. Safe Area - Drag and drop a preset to keep the screen recording within the safe area. 5. Add Keyframes - To zoom in, add keyframes at your chosen start point then move along to your end point. Adjust the position and scale to create automatic keyframes. 6. Center with Guidelines - Use guidelines to ensure your clips are centered and consistent. 7. Smooth Keyframe Transitions - After keyframing, highlight all keyframes, right-click, select Temporal Interpolation, and choose “Ease In” for smoother transitions. Most of the editing principles above can be applied across any editing program, there will just be a slight variation in the process and naming conventions. You could also use programs like Screen Studio or Tella but imo these aren’t as effective or efficient when adding lots of zooms to vertical content. I’d personally recommend learning how to do it in a proper editing program, it will save you time over the long run.

And while the name of the game for the Public Beta 4 update might have been Live Sync features, this latest update which Blackmagic has just announced looks to be more improvements and regular updates coming to the Cut Page. Let’s look at the different sections getting updates and what improvements are coming to DaVinci Resolve overall in regards to speed and performance. DaVinci Resolve 19 Beta 5 Updates As mentioned above, the highlights here have to do with enhanced workflows and improved user experience throughout the app. There are also new layout options as well as tweaks to adjust your transitions—plus some nifty new Resolve FX film looks to simulate different film stocks. For Resolve Studio in particular the app is going to get some speed and performance boosts as well as add automatic SDR to HDR tone mapping.
