These books didn’t just inspire me. They reshaped how I think, work, and lead. Here’s what I learned... As the year winds down, I wanted to share a snapshot of my favorite books I’ve read this year. Some of these I read yearly as a refresher, while others are new additions to the roster that have challenged my thinking and expanded my perspective. What I took from each: Strength Finder by Tom Rath: Stop focusing so much on fixing weaknesses and lean into your strengths. Doubling down on what you do best is far more effective. The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz: More options can lead to regret and fatigue, while fewer, higher-quality choices bring clarity and satisfaction. I keep this in mind in my marketing strategies for clients. Pre-Suasion by Robert Cialdini: People focus on what’s front of mind, so set the stage strategically. Whether it’s a headline, an image, or a LinkedIn post hook, the way you frame the moment before your message can dictate its success. Influence by Robert Cialdini: Social proof is powerful, and using it thoughtfully can create trust and momentum in any campaign or negotiation. Dare to Lead by Brené Brown: Clear is kind. Clarity, whether in feedback, expectations, or goals, is one of the kindest things you can give someone. How Are You, Really? by Jenna Kutcher: Life alignment isn’t found in big moments but in small, everyday decisions. Align your habits with your purpose. Twelve Absolutes of Leadership by Gary Burnison: Great leaders make the complex simple. This lesson has helped me break large projects into small task wins for my team, especially during high-stakes projects. The Fractional CMO Method by Casey Stanton: Focus on what drives results, not doing it all. High-impact actions matter most. The Challenger Sale by Matthew Dixon and Brent Adamson: It’s not about asking what keeps clients up at night. It’s about showing them what should. Challenging people to rethink their assumptions creates opportunities for transformative change. Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg: Sitting at the table isn’t enough—speak up, contribute, and make your presence known. This reminder has empowered me in pivotal moments throughout my career. Talk Like TED by Carmine Gallo: This book helped me prepare for my 2018 TEDx talk, and I’ve reread it every year since. Stories move people to action better than data alone. The key is tying personal anecdotes to universal truths. This changed how I approach public speaking and marketing. Each book offered something that stuck with me long after I turned the last page. Whether you want to improve how you lead, market, sell, or simply live, these reads are worth your time. What’s a book that taught you something unforgettable this year? Let me know in the comments...I’m already building my 2025 list! 👇

The two books we have in common, Dare to Lead and Talk Like TED, didn’t just shape how I show up—they shaped who I am, even in the quiet moments of my life and work. Dare to Lead taught me the power of clarity, not just in conversations but in setting expectations for myself and others. And Talk Like TED completely changed the way I connect with people—whether I’m speaking on stage or writing a LinkedIn post. Stories move people, and that’s a lesson I carry every single day. What’s on your 2025 list? I’m always looking for something new to challenge my thinking!

Nicole Ramirez I love the selections - I’ll have to pull myself away from the sci-fi section and get back into my growth trajectory. If you chose only one to recommend, which would it be?

Loved Lean In and saw you later added Grit. Both really great books showcasing how we have to keep standing up and speaking out to get ahead. I enjoyed Stengthsfinder but I think we need to keep making new assessments every year or so. We upgrade certain skills, shift priorities, and refine values so our strengths are ever evolving. Malcolm Gladwell's Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference is also a classic for marketing and sales people alike.

Amazing list Nicole Thanks for helping me plan my 2025 list. Some that I have enjoyed this year include 10 to 25 by David Yeager (great insight into understanding and motivating those entering the workplace after college), Shy by Design by Michael Thompson (Excellent guide to help introverts succeed in the workplace), and for PURE FUN, read How To Survive History by Cody Cassidy. Listen to the audiobook version if possible. https://www.amazon.com/How-Survive-History-Tyrannosaurus-Catastrophes/dp/0143136402/ref=sr_1_1?crid=14A0UO24LFCCX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ISpMdgLDyq-D4ndqs1tQEwMo3AFEUbiQL8OeCmwItQUsXqg4VGaNo4O_5Yvbeol4-TQQ-AqdsYmwK_u05P2E8inN3N9sjHYLJtJg2Cx-IGITgoPu_5aDxlPK_ibp9AFXLgPJI5FiuFpbtbJ3xI3ROHV0oJ4PMj_FDqVGBiXl4JyCZU5rnjyGV49uqvFT2PXGKkE5hbT_sevGhvNMJybf_Iqu5DlkhhcBadhg816btVY.HqYbda4by-iKLWIOJhMx1XMOPstKBkQ1jbdQ1H6d04A&dib_tag=se&keywords=how+to+survive+history&qid=1735036044&sprefix=how+to+survive+history%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-1

Nicole Ramirez every few years I reread a book called “Juggling Elephants” by Jones Loflin . It is a book about priorities and being in the moment. It is a short read but incredibly insightful and impactful. I can’t recommend it enough…

I love a book recommendation post! And most of these are on my "read" or "to read" list. The Challenger Sale has caught my eye, as it wasn't on my radar but completely in my wheelhouse. Will need to check it out! Thanks for this. 📚
