🎤 This past Saturday I was honoured to be the keynote speaker at the The Ontario Federation of Home and School Associations - OFHSA Annual Conference. These volunteers do such important work supporting students and as people who are juggling many roles, they have a high susceptibly to getting burnt out. I shared my personal story of burnout and two key ways an individual can help prevent burnout for themselves (the responsibility of leaders and the organization were not discussed, but of course are a factor). One, make your well-being a priority by instilling healthy habits. Two, align your life with your values. Some of the habits that I’ve created include adopting a grey zone mindset, a gratitude practice, seeking joy, setting boundaries, and getting the right type of rest.
