Why? ✔️You make your job easier, getting more eyes on your jobs, and creating another channel for talent to flow through. ✔️You open your candidates up to more opportunities. If your team doesn’t have a role for that amazing person you just met, your partnering team might. How do you do this? ✔️Share weekly open req report with one another. If you’re in recruitment, you’re most likely running these kinds of reports anyway. I have a confession. If you are a recruiter you may relate. Over my career I have seen a common trend: Recruitment, TA professionals and all levels of people leadership struggle to prioritize documenting their success! Why? They are taking care of the organizations they represent & the candidates they interact with. Over the last 4+ years the majority of my coaching clients have been all levels of People leadership. When I did outplacement coaching for an RPO I saw first hand how recruiters struggled to recall what they did, how they did it ect! I had to pull it out of them!! This year I was guilty of that very thing! 2 weeks before a contract ended, I realized I had not been doing a great job of tracking my KPI’s! From Jan-April I ended up filling 50 FTE roles. This is something that I've heard numerous times from clients looking to hire execs and leaders, and there are 3 main reasons this could be happening: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Top talent looks for top compensation. If you want them to make a career move, your offer should be at or above the market rate for the role. Consider why someone would want to move, and budget accordingly. Lowballing or being below market rate will only negatively impact you throughout the process. 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡: In any industry, there are household names and awesome companies that people simply don't know about yet. Without brand awareness, getting the opportunity in front of your top talent becomes more challenging, whether through word of mouth or other platforms. Think of how you can best promote the opportunity—the more eyeballs you get on it, the more likely it is to reach your ideal candidate! 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞: I cannot tell you how often I have seen exceptional candidates passed on by the person leading the job search.
