Animated days for AI enthusiasts with the introduction of GPT-4o. The related posts and comments have reminded me of a topic I've been meaning to write regarding ChatGPT, which will also be relevant to GPT-4o. No doubt, ChatGPT and all the other LLMs are useful tools. After using it for more than a year and being exposed to the work of many other people using it, I can draw another conclusion important for all of us, but especially important for managers: A beginner using ChatGPT is not a specialist; they are just a beginner using ChatGPT. Similarly, a specialist using ChatGPT is not an expert; they are just a specialist using ChatGPT. It's essential to recognize that the quality of output generated by ChatGPT is determined by the subject matter expertise of the individual who provided the input prompts and evaluated the output. ChatGPT doesn't elevate our level of subject matter expertise; rather, it facilitates better and quicker expression at our current level. #chatgpt #ai #management

💡 #AI is not "Peer-Review" I was shocked when I saw someone in one of my chatgroups proudly share a "Peer Review" made by #ChatGPT of his paper. People seem to forget what the first half of the term Peer Review actually means. A peer is someone who can stand, reason and think on equal footing with you. There's nothing more debasing than called a chatbot your peer. Large Language Models, let's not flatter them by calling them intelligent, are not the peers of knowledgeable professionals. They are not even the peers of anyone in possession of a Pre-frontal Cortex. They do not possess critical thinking required to actually review The result was, unexpectedly, nothing but meaningless drivel based on what the model thought the user wanted to hear. There's next to no reference to the actual text and at no point is any of the praise that was heaped on ever explained or justified. I have no idea how someone thinks that praises like: "The nuanced analysis of the evolving relationship of China and Russia and its implications and its implications for global power dynamics provides a fresh perspective on a critical issue" Coming from a chatbot, that thinks it wrote Shakespeares Hamlet, is something to take serious. This type of childish faith in LLMs will have bad consequences for the scientific community and we need to call it out. ChatGPT is not your peer! #AI #Science

AI language models like ChatGPT have revolutionised how we interact with technology, but have you ever wondered if ChatGPT gives the exact same answer to every user? The answer is not as straightforward as you might think. ChatGPT, an advanced natural language processing model developed by OpenAI, uses deep learning techniques to generate human-like text. While it can provide similar answers to identical queries, its responses are influenced by several factors including the user's input, language tone, and the training data it was developed with. Here's where it gets interesting: ChatGPT doesn't just regurgitate a canned response every time. Instead, it adapts its language and tone to match the style and preferences of the user, providing a uniquely customised response each time. This means, the quality, context, and phrasing of your input can significantly affect the answer you receive from ChatGPT. If the query lacks detail or is ambiguous, the answer might differ from a more specific question. Similarly, the language and tone of your question can influence the language and tone of ChatGPT's response. As AI technology continues to develop, we can expect even more refined and accurate responses from tools like ChatGPT. The question then is, how can we ensure our interactions with AI are as effective and clear as possible? Share your thoughts and experiences using AI language models like ChatGPT. #ArtificialIntelligence #ChatGPT #AICommunication
