Pejman Nozad of Pear VC says the best founders are good storytellers.
Listen to his interesting perspectives and path to VC on the latest episode of The Full Ratchet.
Page of mind you're known for your sales and negotiation skills. You hone them while selling rugs. Clearly how important are sales skills in the founding team? I think it's very important I actually reverse cell to just storytelling. I think it's really, really important. If you buy a tie, you really don't buy a tie. You buy your look with that tie. You always imagine yourself what this tide do to me my look with the certain suit you have in mind. So I think storytelling selling is really impact of particular product or particular. For me it's very important. I think the best founders you know, there are great storytellers. Look just just watch what Brian Chesky even today does with Airbnb. It just remarkable. Yeah every time he comes with the new things that I've never seen the world like this. You just keep telling stories and and growing his own if the market for Airbnb.
Do you think of VCs as mystical beings whose motivations and decisions don't make sense? 🪄
Here's a VC who bares his soul and spills the beans on what goes on in the mind of a VC. 😳

As listeners of Two by Two have noticed, over the last several episodes, my co-host Rohin and I (mostly Rohin) has made several jabs at VCs. About funding models, incentives, "Midas touch" awards, and a lot more.
Today, in a "VC special" episode, we sat down with two incredible founders turned VCs to get the counter-view. Our discussion with Rajiv Srivatsa and Manav Garg was thoughtful, impassioned and well, let's just say we didn't agree with each other on everything. :)
But that's exactly why you should listen to it.

Do you think 'boring' businesses are just that—dull and unexciting? It's time to change our outlook and uncover the gems that these opportunities truly hold!
On Scott Galloway’s latest episode, Codie Sanchez, ex-Wall Street investor turned CEO of Contrarian Thinking, reveals how small, overlooked businesses can unlock massive wealth. Her new book “Main Street Millionaire” breaks down how to spot, finance, and supercharge these hidden gems.
The secret? Shake up that ‘we’ve always done it this way’ mindset. Sometimes, even the smallest adjustments can lead to explosive growth, especially when it comes to negotiating buying business:deals.
Time to look beyond tech startups and into main street gold mines. #BusinessBuying#WealthBuilding#MainStreet
You're sitting across the table, your eyes alight with excitement over a pitch. But then, plot twist – someone starts questioning everything. It's part of the game, making sure we're not just seeing things through rose-colored glasses.
Chatting with Sunil Nagaraj, Founding Partner at Ubiquity Ventures, highlighted one of the thrills of the early-stage investment game: the best funds out there, they've got a flair for the asymmetric - when someone at the table just can't hold back their enthusiasm. They're like, "Guys, this is it." They've spotted something – maybe it's the spark in a founder's eye or a market gap everyone else is missing.
So, what's our playbook? It's about feeling that vibe, that "Let's roll with it" moment. We're not just throwing ideas at a wall; we're putting our weight behind them. We dig deep, ask the tough questions, but once we're on board, we're committed. That idea becomes part of the crew. And when those out-there bets win, it's high fives all around.
