EMOTIONAL REGULATION ▪️Detach ▪️Breathe ▪️Prioritize ▪️Focus ▪️Execute 💢Boom #MCHN
It always was, is and has been. It also changes as you grow. There are not very many good role models left with this attribute. People are lost nowadays with the lack of leadership. Emotional intelligence does not mean don’t be emotional…it means to observe, recognize & feel. If you learn how to process and regulate your emotions, it allows you to react in a healthy manor. It also allows you to adjust and adapt much more quickly in different situations.
If we don’t have control over the situation we do have control over our emotions. EQ is often times more important than IQ. It is proven that IQ can not be improved past stages of brain development but EQ can keep developing. Emotional Intelligence 2.0 is great book and teaches the following. 1. Understanding your emotions 2. Managing your emotions 3. Understanding the emotions of others 4. Managing relationships
Our freedom lies between stimulus and reaction
I joined up with The Forge last night. As a civvie, its always been inspiring to read about the leadership lessons and life lessons our soldiers have to share. My first impression is that The Forge is filled with folks from all walks of life who share a desire to "do" better - because being something only comes from doing something. Thanks Nick and Forge Team!
This is poetry.
Beautiful be the queit observer. Respond when it’s appropriate Merry Christmas Nick.
Get sleep.
