New Development

Last week, as a #CommsTeamIntern at #SpartanNash, I had the exciting opportunity to participate in a Day in the Field with Josh Libkie, Grocery Operations Manager at SpartanNash's Grand Rapids Distribution Center. Josh had so much awesome insight to share in the few hours I spent with him. Here are just a few takeaways from our time together: 1. Training strategies and techniques for new employees is a lot more complicated than I would've thought. 2. It is crucial as a leader to not only reward workers but also remind them that their jobs matter and make a huge impact on SpartanNash's success. 3. Change for the sake of change usually fails. It needs to be intentional and have a clear purpose and objective. 4. It's important to solve the little things to solve a big thing. 5. "One of the greatest problem-solving tools is perspective." 🤯 It was also a pleasure to meet and meet Jacob Fuller, aPHR, and learn from Lake Zackrison as well. They had the chance to work hand-in-hand, while they were down there, with the Bend crews. I was really happy with their leadership and work ethic.
