thanks for sharing Ngozi Grace Eze, you're apt and so right For me, I experienced the 4 pathways I entered Nursing itself with the last point you talked about: (GO FOR IT) I don't want to stay back at home after I tried Universities and I wasn't enlisted. I wasn't enjoying the delay, I also want to be in higher institutions like my friends I became a PeriOperative Nurse because of the PASSION I have for it, it was a purpose-discovery experience for me While my subspecialty in Perioperative Nursing, i.e (Orthopedic and Neurosurgery) is via the Mentoring/Modelling pathway. I'll also say the God's incident (I called it Providence), which is the first point you talked about was evident in all phases. All events and circumstances were not the same, God was actually ruling and overruling. My advice to people is a quote by Martin Luther King Jr: If you can't Fly, run; if you can't Run, walk; if you can't Walk, crawl; but by all means KEEP MOVING. Don't settle for less, don't be complacent. Let the passion for career advancement keeps you going.
The desire for growth changes everything because at that point you’re curious. True that you need the right information but you need to want to grow, you need to want more out of the ordinary to work with the right information. What works for me; Keep your mind open to learning. Don’t be stuck at what you know, sometimes moving forward requires that you drop some knowledge (baggage) Get exposure by all means (intern if you have to, volunteer too) Develop a great communication skills (I know this is in your CV but it has to be more than that) Others would follow.
Wow this video is indeed inspiring 👏👏, I believe having passion for something is one of the greatest thing that can keep you going.. So passion is my number one here, it help you find your specialty... And also your last statement " Go for It" that's absolutely how I found myself as a Graphics Designer 😂. Before I started developing more passion for it.. So thanks for sharing this, You indeed made great points here Ngozi Grace Eze
Nursing is a lifelong career path! Remember, what you are interested in now may change down the road. Don’t feel like you are stuck in one path. The road can change course any time you want it to (from a RN that has worked 25 years in several specialty areas: critical care, PACU, education and research).
Well said Ngozi
This video is really inspiring. ▶️ Happy New Week
