If you're in the Bay Area, join us! Just a few spots left! Get ready to mix and mingle at the first Retail Women In Tech Bay Area Mixer on June 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the vibrant Irish Consulate in the heart of San Francisco. This space was so kindly donated to us by Enterprise Ireland. We are also so grateful to Writer for sponsoring our event. 💜 Retail Women in Tech was started to create connections between people of different backgrounds (from the business, in tech, in consulting, etc.) and to support one another as we navigate through this thing called our careers (and life). Reality is, lots need that now. Many of us are pausing, zooming out, and considering what we really want to do next. How do we best figure that out? By learning from each other. Expect great conversations, (no sales pitches :), light refreshments, and a fantastic view of the city from Suite 2300 at 1 Post St. Whether you're looking to network, share ideas, or just have a good time, this mixer is the perfect way to unwind and make new connections. https://lu.ma/6q3kpgqj

😇 Celebrating the Value of Volunteers 😇 Volunteers are the heart and soul of any organisation and community. Their contributions go far beyond the tasks they perform; they bring passion, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. When a volunteer steps up, they bring more than just their time; they bring their energy, unique skills, and fresh perspectives that can transform both the workplace and the communities they serve. At Outlook Australia, our volunteers are a bridge to the community, fostering deeper connections and understanding. They help build trust, strengthen relationships, and enhance the company’s reputation as a caring, committed entity. Internally, they inspire others with their spirit of service, creating a culture that values empathy, collaboration, and purpose. For the communities, volunteers are invaluable. They provide vital support, fill gaps where resources may be scarce, and bring hope and inspiration to those they touch. They show up when it matters most, reminding us all of the power of giving back. A big thank you to all the incredible volunteers out there—your contributions are truly priceless. You make our workplaces better, our communities stronger, and our world a kinder place. Let's continue to recognise and celebrate the profound value volunteers bring to our lives. 🌟 Check out https://lnkd.in/gn2RZbma to see just a glimpse of the difference they make in our participants lives 😍 #VolunteerAppreciation #GivingBack #CommunityImpact #CorporateSocialResponsibility #Leadership #PurposeDriven #CelebrateVolunteers

Could Time Credits support volunteer community wealth building, health and wellbeing and inclusion in Manchester? Join MCRVIP (Manchester Volunteer Inspire Programme), TLC: Talk, Listen, Change, Pankhurst Trust and Tempo Time Credits on Wednesday 20th November - see the attached poster for further details. We're really keen to tell you more, answer your questions and hear your thoughts; and we'd be delighted therefore if you can attend a presentation and workshop to learn more about Tempo Time Credits, and their work across the UK over the past 15 years. Discuss how Manchester might benefit from developing a Time Credit programme and help us to design how it should look and who should be involved. We will explore: - How this approach could strengthen and add value to Manchester's current volunteer offer for residents. -The prospect of boosting volunteer engagement, recognition, support participation and inclusion, coproduction and improving health and wellbeing outcomes for people volunteering or sharing the time and skills. -How we can develop a Manchester wide Recognition Partner network that supports inclusion and recognises the time and skills of local people. -How much of an overall impact time credits could have on strategic priorities such as community wealth building, social enterprise and Volunteering for All, addressing ongoing challenges including poverty, volunteer recruitment and inclusion due to cost-of-living crisis, budget pressures for volunteer-involving organisations, now and in the future. Please let us know if you can attend by registering here on Eventbrite . https://lnkd.in/e83g4_XZ Please share TLC: Talk, Listen, Change Talk, Listen, Change The Pankhurst Trust (Incorporating Manchester Women's Aid)

As we approach the end of 2024, we have found ourselves reflecting on the journey Place Matters has been on. It has been a pivotal year where many inspirations, challenges, and opportunities have shaped our mission to accelerate place-based change. 📌 Some of our highlights include: - Launching our Place-Based Interactive Map and the State of Place-Based Working report; tools designed to build better collective insight into systemic place-based change. Check it out here: https://buff.ly/4ekP09L - Deepening learning around place-based change and applying approaches through our Early Years Community of Practice, UK Community Foundations partnering with Health Community of Practice, and forming an Evidence and Impact stewardship group. - Providing learning and practice development support to inspiring collaborations and organisations. To name a few; Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Cradle to Career, BBC Children in Need, Black Thrive, UK Community Foundations, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Nottingham Trent University, Project Raise in Northern Ireland Department of Education. - Becoming an independent charity with a clear social mission - And so much more! Alongside our highlights, this year brought significant learning opportunities - often sparked by emerging challenges, shifting contexts, and evolving opportunities. Often our cultures are built around a need to remain positive, and focus on success, however at Place Matters, our commitment to learning and sharing knowledge remains steadfast. We believe that true change stems from transparency, collaboration, and breaking down the "logos, egos, and silos" that feeds competition and, ultimately, holds us back. As we take time for reflection over the winter break, we'll be sharing some of our team’s insights. Spotlighting the questions that keep us curious, the opportunities we’re excited about, and the mountains still to climb in the journey to empower our citizens and integrate #PlaceBased working in our communities. Join the conversation! What lessons, challenges, or wins have shaped your 2024? 🌟

Something amazing happens when a virtual community meets in person: We saw it firsthand this past summer. There’s a reason why our community has doubled in size. Not only are more people joining every month — but they're also bringing their significant others. Word has spread that we throw more than your run-of-the-mill event. Now, people want in on the shared experiences we enable like: • Working out together in the morning • Breaking bread as a group • Dancing into the night This reinforces why I created Connected Success in the first place. Our mission goes beyond individual transformation — we're reshaping how entire workplaces connect. Yes, coordinating logistics for these things takes effort. But watching our community come alive in person is worth every blood, sweat, and tear. Some things just can’t happen behind a screen.

Tai Pawb are officially trialling the four-day week. Effective from 1 April 2024, we will be embarking on a 12-month pilot of the four-day week (4DW). We recognise this is a journey for us, but we are keen to make it a success - as it has been for the large majority of those who undertook the global trial. We look forward to sharing our learning and experiences, so keep an eye on our LinkedIn. Why are we implementing the 4DW? Global trials and the successful implementation of a 4DW by hundreds of organisations has demonstrated increased staff well-being, maintaining or increasing productivity and performance, promotion of equality and has helped employers attract talent. We also follow in the footsteps of two of our member organisations. Merthyr Valleys Homes took part in the global trial, and following on from the success of that trial, the policy was adopted permanently. Co-Production Network Wales has also recently adopted the policy. How will it work? During the initial period, we are piloting all colleagues having the same day off – which will be a Friday. This will mean that our services will be operating from Monday-Thursday. The 4DW is based on a principle of 100 – 80 – 100: delivering 100% of the work, in 80% of the time, for 100% of salary. The concept is gaining ever-more support both here in the UK and internationally, with public, private and third sector organisations arranging trials and successfully implementing the policy. This should not affect our work with our members and we will be monitoring our outputs, outcomes and staff wellbeing closely. We have set up a robust framework for ensuring and monitoring our performance alongside the impact of the four-day week, recognising that any potential challenges are identified early. This includes engagement and feedback from member organisations and our colleagues. Wish us well as we embark on this new way of working, and continue our commitment to advancing equality, diversity and social justice in housing in Wales.
