Burnout seemed to become a serious concern in the workplace around Covid times. It's always existed but the topic seemed more mainstream with the unrest in the world. So I've been learning about how to avoid it for myself. I learned so much about burnout from this Brene Brown podcast. Apparently, emotional exhaustion happens when you get stuck in an emotion. Emotions have a beginning, a middle and an end and until you work through the emotion to the end, you are stuck dealing with it over and over again. Which causes burnout. So what I learned is that I have to deal with my shit instead of avoiding it and hoping it will just go away if I stomp it down deep far enough. Bring on the hypnotherapy!
