#Everloop collection featured on WWD! 📰 The interview spotlights two of our partners Positive Materials and Materra Positive Materials - “What we are trying to do is showcase all the possibilities around [the materials] and how innovation can be real,” said Jorge Miguel Ribeiro, Positive Materials co-chief executive officer. The intent was also to help the young innovators learn how to think and work collectively on garment solutions. “The supply chain is still very bulk-oriented, and our value proposition relies on agility. Otherwise, we cannot push innovation because innovation comes in an [minimum viable product]-first approach, and you need to be able to push through that,” he said of production volumes. “Of course, we’d like these materials to go mainstream, and then commercially generate revenues, but the starting point is what’s missing, the starting point is filling that gap.” Materra cofounder Edward Brial said the lack of standardised practices and approaches to working with new materials is one of the biggest challenges in scaling up throughout the supply chain while keeping creative teams happy. “We are working out different ways of processing the material, educating teams internally because usually, the fibre can cross most of the garments that they work with. But then it’s a big [challenge], if we have a repeat order of material, making sure that there’s still flexibility so that designers aren’t too disrupted in their workflow.” 🔗 Read more here --> https://lnkd.in/dqQZ32DZ AMPHICO, Nature Coatings, PACT, Ponda Bio, BioFluff, Petratex - Confecções SA PDS Ventures #Everloop #SustainableFashion #PremièreVision #PositiveMaterials #PDSVentures #petratex #AMPHICO #NatureCoatings #PACT #PondaBio #BioFluff #Petratex #PDSVentures

Out now: World Leather June-July leatherbiz.com/News/169006 A new issue of World Leather is now available. This issue offers an in-depth interview with the new president of the Leather and Hide Council of America, Kerry Brozyna. His thought-provoking comments include the idea that the industry should begin presenting leather as a #plastickiller. Read the interview and see what he means. Our technology section carries a summary of the recent annual conference of the UK’s Society of Leather Technologists and Chemists. Other technical articles cover #digitalisation’s contribution to traceability, the use of #photoluminescence in creating glow-in-the-dark leathergoods, and the impact that advances in satellite imaging could have on debates about #methaneemissions. In Leather and the Circular Economy, we present a double boost to efforts to calculate leather’s environmental footprint. Another of the articles gives the reasons for the sustainability director of Kering’s passionate intervention at the group’s most recent annual meeting. Accounts of recent developments at biostimulants producer SICIT Group, and at #leather trims and patches manufacturer Vivolo complete the section this time. We close, as always, with Beast to Beauty, which this time concentrates on Capri Holdings’ attempts to acquire rival group Tapestry. Objections from the competition authorities are holding the deal up. We hope you enjoy reading every article. leatherbiz.com/News/169006 Erretre | Tannery Innovations and machines MethaneSAT Evrim Kadioglu Marriott Virtuo Design Ltd. COTANCE #VDL UNIDO Ivan Kral

Introducing the ANTAGONIA COLLECTION 2024 We are excited to announce our new collection and upcoming fashion shows in Spain and Germany. We are thrilled to present our latest collection, ANTAGONIA. Antagonia reimagines garments traditionally associated with productivity, functionality and the patriarchal system, transforming them into new morphologies that envision alternative, regenerative worlds. These worlds are not governed by consumption or the domination of one gender or species over another. The collection features deconstructed garments, fragmented into modules and experimentally reassembled with laces and ties. Inspired by the organic world, these new forms create a tension with the artificial nature of the materials used. https://lnkd.in/ddSF8jSm

The theme of the 54th edition of MUNICH FABRIC START was “Intuition”, which ran like a red thread through the entire event. In a time when uncertainty and change shape the fashion industry, one relies on the power of inner instincts and creative intuition. “Intuition” stands for breaking free from predefined rules and instead trusting one’s gut feeling and subtle perception of trends. This season’s trend themes focus on human emotions: RESILIENCE, LUCID DREAM, GENTLE POWER, SOLITAIRE, and RECOLLECT. RESILIENCE and LUCID DREAM reflect the need for protection and security in uncertain times and the return of romance. GENTLE POWER refers to the peace and energy of nature, inspired by the contrast of vulnerability and strength. SOLITAIRE and RECOLLECT represent the return of glamour, sharpness, and the merging of tradition and technology in fashion. This was reflected not only in the showcased collections but also in the around 40 keynotes, panel discussions, trend presentations, and Q&A sessions with more than 50 renowned industry experts.
